Dennis Erb Jr was a man on a mission Friday night, winning Farmer City Raceway's Brad Kirby Memorial. The $5000 to win show drew 48 late model from four states, with Shannon Babb turning in fast time. Babb won the first heat over Billy Drake and Richie Hedrick. The second heat went to Eric Smith over Matt Taylor and Roger Long. The third heat went to Steve Hillard over Kevin Weaver and Joe Ross Jr. The fourth heat was easily the most exciting heat of the evening with Wes Steidinger winning over John Gill and Gary May, Gill had started near the rear and put on a passing exhibition. The fifth and final heat went to Dennis Erb over Jimmy Mars and Jason Feger. The first semi went to Chris Dick over Darren Friedman and Jimmy Felker Jr with the second semi another exciting race with Mark Anderson getting past Rodney Melvin after they came off turn four, with Tim Lance following in third place. The 40 lap feature started out with pole sitter Shannon Babb leading the first ten laps, then Dennis Erb Jr would use the high side to slip past Babb for the lead and the win. Steve Hillard had the crowd on their feet as he also got past Babb on lap 26 then ran down Erb Jr but could not get around him. Hillard finished second with Babb third and Wes Steidinger fourth.

In the modifieds, Lance Dehm made a clean sweep of the evening, setting fast time, winning his heat and holding off Jeff Leka for the feature win. Other heats went to Jeff Leka, and Jim Leka with the semi going again to Marty Hiser.
