Farmington: It's A Shame...

One thing I like about SFCR is the playground area they have for the kids. One of my biggest complaints about going to the races the kids running all over the place. Just last Friday at Godfrey I would have thought I was sitting on top of the monkey bars on the playground watching the races. Must have been 20 kids under the grandstands climbing on the bars. I will admit it's hard to keep a kid interested in the racing for the entire 3 to 4 hours that you're there. I think a playground area would be great idea.

As for the pricing I can tell you this. If I were to be taking my kids to the races I'd choose I-55 over SFCR simply for the cost. Which is what I usually do. I've had my kids at I-55 and Belleville in the past. And took my son to KLMS for the big fall race for free. If admission was free up to 12 at SFCR I'd probably take them to see the sprints. Not sure if I-55 offers the free admission to sprint shows for 12 and under or not but if they do that's where my kids will see the sprints.

Qwaynick, I get that you don't want to have to deal with somebody elses rugBrats when you're trying to enjoy the races. In both my jobs I'm FORCED to deal with the public--which in summer means a lot more bored, hyper, unsupervised kids causing MAYHEM. So I don't like them myself. But as I've said, tommorow's racers have to come from SOMEWHERE, and they won't all start out racing go-karts or 1/4-midgets. How do you know that one of those kids under the bleachers might not be the, say, 2030 track champion?

That said, I do think every track should have a playground to occupy the kiddies.

Please don't misunderstand me. I know how kids are, and I'm glad to see them there. I just think that are better places to play than under the grandstands. These kids at Godfrey were climbing up under my seat and I was about 5 rows from the top of the grandstands!!!!

I don't have a problem with them at the tracks at all. Just a little playground for the kids would be great. But, if there isn't any place for the kids to play then the parents need to make sure the kids aren't playing where they shouldn't be.

I don't have a problem with kids playing in the dirt with their cars as long as they aren't in the walking paths. I also don't have a problem with them playing with toys on the grandstand seats as long as they aren't taking up a seat that someone could be sitting in. In most cases this wouldn't be a problem as many fans like to stand in corners and other places that don't really obstruct the view of the seated fans.

I say bring the kids!!!! But parents need to pay more attention to their kids than to how full their beer is! I see this on a regular basis and it just bothers me. I'm all for having a cold one, even if your kids are with you. But so many times you'll notice that the adults don't miss a beat on their beer runs but couldn't tell you where their kids are to save their life!

Qwaynick, I do agree with you about oblivious parents. At the store where I work it's nothing to see parents let their little--and I do mean little--ones wander off in the parking lot  --and the parents don't have a clue where the kids are. Tragedy waiting to happen. :(

My kids are gounded from the track for not following my rules. Been out since the very first night. Heck I have liked it so much they may never come back :D :D

Cocktail Time

You bet it is DOG!!!!! :D Sorry about Saturday night and the PePsI ----
I guess you can tell Marty and Gus loaded the cooler ..... :( :(

Only $18 Bucks

$50 bucks for my son and I to get in, $30 + dollars for fuel a week. Man, I think I'm being taken for a ride. :D Not to mention what it takes to keep a car race ready every week.

I really need to talk to Cory about this problem. Hmmm. Aleast you would think he could feed us both.

i dont know why they even raised the pit prices to 25 that outragous!!!......its only 20 for a pit pass at bluff and only 8 for the grandstands....not sure on the age limit though

Maybe Farmington should make some changes.

Just last week I had a customer tell me he was going to the races because his young daughter insisted they should. That family most definately would have stayed home that night had it not been for that young fan. I'm sure there are plenty of young fans who don't get to attend every week because of the cost. Even I have stayed home or went to Pevely on occasion because of the cost for children, and on the weekends I have all of our kids, the children and I will go to the stands or stay home rather than pay $25 for pit passes for all of us. I would however probably pay $10 or $15 for pit passes for the kids if it was an option. I hope the Farmington promoter thinks about some of these comments.
