FASTRAK Tour continued to have strong car counts in 2019

Carnesville, GA –
The FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance concluded the 2019 season at Screven Motor Speedway over the past weekend. The 2019 season saw the series’ average car count hold steady at 25 cars per event from the previous year. The FASTRAK Racing Series had 15 points paying events in 2019. Non-point events included the 2nd Annual Damn Yankees 50 at Richmond Raceway, the FASTRAK World Championship at Virginia Motor Speedway, and the FASTRAK World Challenge at I-77 Speedway. The early part of the season was plagued by mother nature, shifting several events throughout the year.

“It is great to see our average car counts holding steady,” said FASTRAK Vice President DJ Irvine, “We always want to see full fields at every event and strong fields as well. The racing on the tour this season was very competitive, seeing eight unique winners this season in points races. When you add the non-points events, that makes eleven different winners.”

While it was not factored into the average car count, FASTRAK saw a record turn-out for the $50,000 to win 2019 FASTRAK World Championship at Virginia Motor Speedway with 113 entries. The FASTRAK World Championship marked the highest late model car count of any event in several years. The record turn-out prompted Virginia Motor Speedway and FASTRAK to once again pay $50,000 to win the FASTRAK World Championship in 2020.

“We are certainly looking forward to the 2020 season,” continued Irvine, “We are returning to the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the FASTRAK Triple Crown and East Coast Rumble are back along with the FASTRAK World Championship and will have some new events on the 2020 slate. Definitely looking to strengthen that average car count next year. A lot of exciting events are still in the works.”

The FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance is in the process of finalizing the 2020 schedule. The series looks to add new tracks to the 2020 slate along with the staple events returning to the schedule for the upcoming season. Officials expect for the 2020 FASTRAK Racing Series schedule to be released in December.
