Fayette County Speedway, located on the Fayette County Fairgrounds along US Route 40 in Brownstown, IL is planning a great season in 2003! Fayette County Speedway is a high-banked, 3/8-mile dirt oval featuring Stock Car racing on Friday nights, April through September.

The 2003 season gets under way in late March with two Play Days: Sunday, March 23 at noon and Saturday, March 29 at noon. For each Play Day session, a Pit Pass is $10 and general admission to the grandstands is FREE for all ages. What is Play Day? It is practice day for the drivers. They test and tune their cars, work on their set-ups and generally have lots of fun after the long off-season.

The season officially gets underway with the Season Opener on April 4, featuring a $1,000 to win UMP Modified Feature. The UMP Modified division will also have $1,000 to win events on May 23, July 4 and August 29.

During 2003, all Regular Events will follow this format: Gates open at 5:00 p.m., Hot Laps at 7:00 p.m., Modified Qualifying at 7:30 p.m., with racing immediately following the qualifying session. Weekly events will feature UMP Modifieds, Street Stocks, Bombers, Team Cars, and the Hornet class (4-cylinders).

For the UMP Late Model fans, Fayette County Speedway’s 2003 Schedule includes seven special events featuring the UMP Late Models – including the UMP Summer Nationals. If you missed last year’s Summer Nationals event, you will definitely want to make it a point to attend the July 13 event when some of the Nation’s top dirt late model drivers will race for $6,000 to win. Special admission prices will be charged at all shows featuring the UMP Late Models.

The 2003 Schedule also includes three Special Events for the Street Stocks, Bombers, Team Cars and Hornets. On May 25-26 the Season’s first two-day event will be held, paying $7,500 to win (payout based on 100 cars) in the Street Stock division. The Bombers will be racing for $1,000 to win, Hornets for $500 to win and Team Cars for $200 to win. Labor Day weekend will feature another two-day Street Stock event and the season will officially end with a three-day Street Stock event the weekend of October 10-12. Bombers, Hornets and Team Cars will be included in the Labor Day and October 10-12 events. These three events are Special Events at the Speedway and special admission prices will be charged.
