Fayette County Speedway will be running Modifieds, Street Stocks, Hornets and Team Cars for the 2010 season. There will be a rules meeting at a later date.

friday

from what i heard they plan on racing friday nights. thank you charlie and the fairboard to bring racing back to where they belong.

Any chance that they'll run any special events? Such as UMP Summer Nationals, Monster Midwest, NALMS, USMTS, POWRI, or MARS?

past

they did in the past, but i would say they have to build another foundation before they try to many special shows.

I hope

This is some official information.... And also Thank you charlie and fair board for coming to terms and reopening the track. Well now I need to sale my modified to get a Team car maybe LOL... But we will see u guys at the track

To set the record straight, as of today January 5, 2010, there has been no contract signed between the Fayette County Fair Association and Mr Depew for the race track. We, the Fayette County Fair Association, are in the process of trying to negotiate a contract with Mr Depew but at this time we are unable to say whether it will be a go or not. We will be meeting with Mr Depew for the first time later this week.

I thought it would make more sense to run on Sundays too... Maybe if we can get a few people to mention it on here they would consider it.

I would have thought so also. Where is the car count coming from for a friday or saturday show? From another track? What track has that many cars to spare? Seems on sunday they only have shepps as competition. Last thing we need is another track struggling to lose again eventually. jmo

Sprints

I would love to work a deal and bring the excitement of the American SprintCar Tour to this track. We represent the ASCT for 2010 and believe that our program offers the tracks and fans one heck of a show for a great price.

Race on Sundays. Keep the show moving and be done by 10pm. Track PREP and a FAIR and exciting show are keys to success here. They still need some classes for 12 yr. olds and under.:)

i think racing on sundays would be best also. with belleville, jacksonville, tri-city and farmer city all on fridays i think it would be tough to get 18-20 cars in each division. i would think you would have pretty good modifieds show up on sundays as well. I think just running modified, street stocks and hornets is the way to go also. i would like to see a few sportsman races, like once a month, and maybe race crates once a month. I dont think there would be the support in these two classes to race them weekly. I don't think a promotor would be able to make much money if there are only 8-10-12 cars each week, and then the payout would be weak. i hope they can make it work up there, that's my favorite track

Ya we need somewhere to go on sundays. Tri city did well when they ran sundays and shepps speedway seems to be doing pretty good also.
