Combined $9000 to win Modified weekend (possible $15,000 to win!) over 3 independent shows on February 21st, 22nd and 23rd. Minimum combined $750 to start ($1050 with a USMTS license!) at Royal Purple Raceway just east of Houston!

Here's some more tidbits:

USMTS Southern Region License cost $150.

No license: Cost to enter all 3 Baytown races early is $345 - min. tow money back $230

With License: Cost to enter all 3 early is $315 - min. tow money back $270

Worst case scenario if you race all 3 days and enter early as suggested (by Feb 15th!), the $150 license actually only cost you $80. Make just ONE of the 3 A-mains on this weekend, and the license will have just paid for itself!

The ways the license pays off from there are many. Focusing on the tangibles here, the better you run the more the license is worth it. If you don't buy the license and you run good, you'll be kicking yourself for not having one. Buying this license is a 'no-brainer' if there ever was one in this sport!

-- Just look at the payouts for Baytown on the Texas Spring Nats entry form. The only positions that pay the same is 1st. The rest of the spots are at least $100 better with a license (that includes last place) than without and some positions like 2nd on Saturday, pay as much as $800 more with a license than without one. Even if you don't run another USMTS event the rest of the year after Baytown, the TSN payouts alone make it worth an $80 risk.

-- Points. Can't earn points without a license. Not racing for the Southern Region title? Ok. Points can still help you on this weekend if you start accumulating them on Thursday and you can't accumulate any without a license. Up to 2 provisionals will get in the race on Friday based off Thursday's points and again on Saturday based on the standings after Thur & Fri's races. Provisional starters don't get 'full' purse (see USMTS rules) but if you get in that top ten it still pays up there and you do get full points for where you finish.

-- On the third race of the season (that would be Saturday if there's no weather cancellations), the Top Dog Bonus money starts. That means if you did well enough the first two races to be top ten in points, you are guaranteed a minimum of $400 that night even if you don't qualify for the A main.

-- Unsure of your season plans after the TSN? Don't take yourself out of the points chase early--buy the Southern Region license anyway! You never know what can change for you down the road and you'll have 3 weeks until the next race. We've already showed you how this pays off regardless of whether you run the rest or not. The Allgayer Inc. Southern Region presented by Day Motorsports presently has only 12 races left on the schedule after Baytown if all goes to plan down there and yet still has a point fund that pays $5000 to winner. As of today, the points season will be over earlier (June 29th) than any other points chase you can get into too. The whole series is either in Texas or within an hour of it's borders. 3 road trips after Baytown: 2 extended weekends and one region/points season-ending speedweek is all that will be left barring weather reschedules.

Now if you know you're going to be out on the road this year and you plan on attending more USMTS Casey’s Cup Championship Series events in either the Arbor Masters Central Region or Farm Boy BBQ Sauce Northern Region (both also presented by Day Motorsports of Tyler, Texas!) or perhaps going for the holy grail itself in The Hunt for Casey's Cup later on this summer, then you might as well spend $500 and get a license for all of it. Each region and 'The Hunt' require a $150 license so that will save you $100 but the offer does expire on Feb 23rd. Special USMTS events such as the King of America Mod Nationals, World Modified Dirt Track Championship and the late season shows like the Texas Winter Nationals, do not require a license.

***ENTER all three nights of the 4th annual USMTS Texas Spring Nationals powered by Lecolift... EARLY as by FEBRUARY 15TH!!!***

With a license, that saves you $70 and even without a license, it'll still save you $40. Got about a week until that deadline so please don't wait, ENTER TODAY! Got a feeling this is going to be a really good field of cars and maybe if the folks see a strong PRE-entry list, we can get a few out to the grandstands come Saturday night, February 23rd! That's always a challenge down there in the winter time. They are missing some of the best racing of the year too! You know if a racer wants to spend an extra $100 at registration, that $4000 to win becomes a ONE-night $6000 to win Modified race. That's due to the new 'Big Dog Buy-In' that can pay an extra $2000 to the winner at every USMTS championship event this year. That Saturday also pays $3000 for 2nd, $2000 for third and $400 just to start the A if you have the license, Big Dog or not. With 41 or more cars entered, 26 cars start the A too! (With 2 provisionals added, they could be starting 28!)

Today, Fri 2/15 is the last day to save a few dollars by taking advantage of the pre-entry rate but this also serves another purpose. It gives us an entry list to present the fans around Houston and maybe we could drag them out of their 75 degree houses and out into the breezy 'bone-chilling' mid-50s for a race. LOL! Yea, they 'think' it's cold!

Baytown, Texas weather currently sunny & 63! (Tues, 2PM)

Time to roll!!!

Wednesday's High is 61 but the low is just 58. There is a 30% chance of r--- but nothing significant until after midnight. Practice looks good right now. They have had two practices already at the Royal Purple Raceway dirt track so the dirt's in fine shape!

Thursday-Sunday (Sunday, only if needed): Highs are from 69 to 73 and lows from 49 to 58. That'll work. Biggest rain chances of the week are early Thursday morning until early afternoon Thursday. 60%. (source: weather.com) From Thursday evening on, nothing above 30%. Calling for no rain at all on Saturday with a high of 71!

If needed, they will consider running two shows Saturday to avoid running on Sunday. Every effort will be made to get all 3 of these shows in THIS WEEKEND so come on down!!!
