My suggestion for the track is to have race cars out front have a Late model,Modified and B-Mod one week and sportsman and 4 cylinder the next week maybe have someone out there to answer any questions someone might have sale tickets to get a ride in the cars like the children do a couple of laps sale the tickets for $3:00 pick a winner from each class then give the winners their ride at intermission I think this would go over very good

I'd be happy if they would just replace those crappy bathrooms in turn 1.

Good idea ricky the fans love the cars someone should definitely go back to doing programs. Hard for part time fans to know who the hell theyre looking at without a program. Some of our group sit at end of front front stretch and use those bathroom. Very convenient, no complaints here. (We probably wouldn't type a message just to complain though) and we have some picky women with us

It would be hard to give an adult a ride. They would have to sit on the decking and don't know what kinda weight a guy would want on there. They used to have a 2 seater sprinter some yrs back and gave rides.

They have newer rest rooms in turn 3-4. If its that important don't be lazy and walk to them.

I don't think any adult sitting on the car would hurt it any when my youngest son rode he weighed about 185 don't know what a sprint has to do with my suggestion since it was about Late models and modifieds

Racers aren't going to want an adult sitting on their decking. It is just thin aluminum held on with aluminum brackets.

I don't know many adults that would want to ride on the deck anyhow. You would need a two seater car to do this sort of thing.

Well ok maybe just put the cars out there for people to see and someone out there to maybe answer questions people might have I do think people would be interested in that.

You have to get people to the race track in order for them to see the cars at the ticket booth. I think car shows at local establishments with good traffic would help. That is one way for the general public to see these machines who don't normally get to see them. That would be the great time for a novice fan or someone that doesn't know what they're looking at to ask questions. With how early racing season starts that might not be the best option either, but thats my 2 cents worth.

Last year when I put a kid on the back of a mod the panel collapsed. And a few kids had me worried as the sheet metal was bowing so bad. Adults would be a huge no go...

Ok it don't have to be done on opening day April 8th could be started 1st Saturday in may that date would be may 6th I've seen this work at several other tracks it can be done with a little effort and let me reiterate not having any rides just people looking and asking questions

We took our Sportsman to a car show at the Arnold Culvers last year and had a crowd around it all night, asking questions, taking pictures, kids sitting in the driver seat, which was the only car at the show allowing that, so yeah it was trick. We plan to do at least 2 this year. We'll also do appearances at the locations of 2 sponsors this year, which will both be publicized on the radio by the sponsor. It was surprising how many car enthusiast at the car cruise last year didn't know Pevely had a track, when they raced, or how cheap it was to get in. My bet is, a small fraction of racers make the time for these types of appearances. But I would also bet if just half of us hit a car cruise a season, it would benefit the turnout at the track at least to some degree.

These are all great suggestions. You would think the track promoters already know this...especially Schrader. Then why.... Oh, nevermind....

Ok you said in your post that people were asking questions, taking pictures and kids sitting in the drivers seat there ya go when that happens in the parking lot at i-55 more butts in the seats more money to the track the kids will absolutely love this this WILL work maybe we can contact the promoter and tell him about this idea and hopefully he will agree and promote this idea let's hope so this can work

Just stating they used to give rides with a sprint that was a 2 seater. Actual fast laps not just a slow cruise around. No need to be a smartass about it.

  17. He was talking about a car show/cruise night-how many people do you think just happen to drive by the parking lot of I-55 that weren't already planning on going? I don't have an issue with the cars being displayed at the track but, in my opinion, that isn't going to draw new fans.

I seem to remember seeing a couple of things last year where they had cars and people at a couple of schools last summer not only showing the cars but actually having group discussions with classes and so on.

I also remember a few occasions where they had cars at the front gate with the driver for fans to check out when coming in.

I don't get why people get on here and harp that they don't do anything when they probably do more than most tracks...

And my point was to make it as much on the drivers and team owners to contribute to the business development of the venue they race at or sanction they are a member of, as it is on the track owners, promoters, and sanctioning bodies. If I like having a nice track to race at 15 miles from my house, and I do, why wouldn't i do something to positively impact the number of people coming to see the product I put out there for their viewing pleasure? Business Development is everybody's responsibility, I don't care who you are or what your doing. If your not helping to secure what you have, pretty soon you'll have nothing. JMO
