I'm still gonna check on pictures from there one of these days, not sure I have any from on the track, probably none at all from that first day.....

my dad has several photos of white city from when he was racing his street stock there at that time (not sure if it was the time he ripped out 100ft of guard rail after winning the feature and track owners wanted him to pay for it). i know there are several photos of gundaker, taylor and others racing, possibly this particular race, that he took while he wasnt racing.

Can anyone name the 4 owners of the Midstate Raceway?
I knew one of the owners really well as he was a co worker in the late 90s.

My dad, Alan Conroy, was one of them. He could name the others. I was just being born around then. Its a shame, I would have loved to watched some races on that track

Tom Brown and John Callison .... can't think of the 4th .... am I correct?

The fourth one not mentioned was Terry Johnson. Terry was the one I used to work with. Terry told me that Brown, Conroy,Doug Haeni sp? and himself were the owners and John Callison was the track coordinator. Terry passed away a few years back and was living in the Litchfield area. Heard alot of stories about the racetrack.

I finally took a few minutes, and am sorry to say I had no pictures from THAT day, although there were pics from later on in the year. Main problem being is that they were typical Racenut pics, back then I might still have had a 110 instamatic, no zoom, the photographer seemed to be a bit fast on panning with the cars, as the ones from the stands to the track seem to have the back half of the cars missing (lol) These were the old standard 3x5? size at the time, and from the top row, even the car numbers blurred. I could tell who most of them were.... There were even more of the cars still sitting on the trailers, if memory serves me right they got rained out that particular day. There are pics of Ray Godsey, Chrissy Oliver in her daddy's Tri-City Buggy along with the Allied modified of Ed Dixon the day he flat out smoked the late models....the on-track shots were (I think) Kevin Weaver, Diick Taylor, Tom Rients among others. There were a few that would probably scan in ok, if I had a scanner, and if I had the time.... spare time, one thing that will no longer exist after starting the second job....
