Wheatland, MO (August 5th, 2007)-Ninety-Eight cars jammed the pits at the Lucas Oil Speedway on a hot and muggy August evening in Wheatland, Missouri. At the end of the night, the last man standing was Kenneth Potter winning the 305 Sprint Car feature presented by Chester Fried Chicken. Johnny Fennewald, Eric Turner, and James Flood also visited the Lucas Oil Speedway winner's circle on a terrific night of weekly racing series action at "the Diamond of Dirt Tracks".

The visiting 305 Sprint Cars presented by Chester Fried Chicken were led to the green flag by pole sitter Eric Todd but the lead was short lived as mechanical trouble sidelined the veteran sprint car pilot early in the feature. Bradley Roberts assumed the lead and appeared to be on his way to the win but again mechanical gremlins would take its toll on the leaders. Higginsville, Missouri's Austin Allumbough took the lead with three laps to go and appeared to have the race won but contact with a lap car coming out of turn 4 on the last lap would hand the win to Harrisonville, Missouri's Kenneth Potter. Brad Ryan, Joseph Todd, J.P. Compton, and Terry Moore persevered to claim Top 5 finishes. Eric Todd and Bradley Roberts captured heat race wins.

James Flood continued his recent hot streak by winning the TCI Transmission Factory Stocks in a photo finish over runner up Tim Brown. Robert Brown from Lane, KS had a strong run to finish third with track point leader Troy Reasoner Jr. finishing in 4th and Springfield's Terry Brown rounding out the Top 5. Heat Race winners were Flood and Paul Cates. Reasoner Jr. continues to hold a very narrow 10 point lead over Keith Webster in the season point standings.

The Miller Lite ULMA Late Models would once again see a great race long battle between Appleton, Missouri's Johnny Fennewald and 17-year old J.D. Hubert but it was Fennewald taking his turn in victory lane this week with Hubert ultimately settling for third. Matt Menzie had a solid run from his 10th starting spot to finish in second. Rylan Long and pole sitter Jeff Schlup completed the top 5. Bryon Allison and Kevin Kaiser both started deep in the field and advanced to finish sixth and seventh with Harlen Kennedy, Kathy Pierson, and Marty Pope finishing in 8th-10th respectively. Heat Race winners included Jeff Schlup and Hubert. Rylan Long maintains a 27 point lead over Kaiser in the season point's battle.

As the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds took the green flag, point's leader Rex Merritt broke almost at the drop of the throttle with driveline failure. He was unable to return and would be credited with a 24th place finish. As the field lined up for restart number two, John Fellers led the field to the green flag from his pole starting position but once again it was Eric Turner dominating the action and taking the win. Jason Pursley was strong all night and finished second with Johnny Fennewald pulling double duty finishing in third. Terry Kirk started 18th and finished fourth with Donnie Fellers taking home the fifth spot. Jeff Cutshaw, Jeran Frailey, Jimmy Dowell, Christopher Moon, and Richard Turner rounded out the Top 10. Heat Race winners were John Fellers, Eric Turner, and Jimmy Dowell. David Gemes had a good run to win the B-feature and qualify for the main event. Merritt's once huge point lead has now slipped to just 19 over Eric Turner as he continues to rack up wins and close the gap on Merritt.
