? for highland speedway

A driver must join the Highland Speedway Point Fund to receive end of season point fund monies. Drivers must buy their Highland Speedway membership by May 3rd. Membership costs $30. A driver must race in 75% of all 2014 point events to be eligible for any point money. Drivers must declare their rookie status. A rookie is defined by not participating in more than 5 races in a season. Driver must attend banquet or have his representative attend.
An extra 75 Highland Speedway points will be awarded to each driver who
signs in at the pit shack and has their car in the pits.

Only UMP members will receive Highland Speedway points.

In the event of a tie, first tie breaker will be based on loyalty,
second will be whoever had most wins, followed by top 5 finishes,
and top 10 finishes, etc.

MY question is. it states that each driver who signs and and has their car in the pits will be awarded an extra 75 pts. How can the driver get that extra 75 pts when they didnt even show up sounds like some magical points giving going on by the track

It will be interesting to see uf somehow zobrist is allowed to start the makeup feature or get the show up points since he did not show up that night or his car

Chad did buy a pitpass and yes, the car was present. He intended on tagging on the back of the feature that night, but when there was a full field of cars signed in that was no longer an option. No he will not be in the make up feature.

If we are asking questions, I have one for you...

When the B-mods ran their make-up feature on June 28, not all the cars present for the original race were there. After the cars that showed up for the make-up feature came onto the track (in their pre-set order from the heat races), they were told to redraw their positions because not all the cars were present. They allowed 2 cars that did not even qualify through the heat races to draw pills for this. My son, Jimmy Cummins #19, had a front row start position with #40 Steve Ellison. On the redraw, Jimmy started 7th in the 4th row.

At the Modified make-up race this past weekend on July 12, the Modified cars came onto the track in their pre-set order. Some of the cars that raced the original race were not there. Highland officials allowed the cars to move up positions without redrawing pills. So if the car in front of you wasn't there, you got to move up a row.

So I'm asking, where is the continuity in rules here? Why do things one way for a make-up feature and then turn around and change your way of doing things for the next one? Do you redraw pills for all make-up races or just some? This is the kind of stuff that angers people, especially Moms!

If it was me on that track, I wouldn't have been too quiet about this. If a car doesn't show up for the make-up feature, you move the cars that do show up forward to fill in that spot.

Can anyone from Highland explain this to me?

The top 6 finishers that transfer through the heats in the street stock and b mods have a pill drawn for them by a junior fan club member. I don't know the exact circumstances on the race you are talking about Debbie . Maybe it was the top 8 that night if there are 4 heats. It's pretty much the same as belle Clair.

here is some food for thought-the LM field was set-does highland use alternts??if so then lets say 18 cars show up that were in the postphoned feature-will they pick alternts from the remaining cars that were there that night???

On June 21 there were 4 heat races. They took the top 4 from each heat race for the Feature = 16. They ran a Consi, and took all 6 of the cars that showed up for the make-up race to make the Feature. If a Jr. Fan Club kid drew a pill for them, then that kid would have drawn the pill on June 21 and the line-up would have been set. The races were called due to rain after all the consi's were run. The order was decided on June 21...straight up, not reversed. The decision to change it was made after the cars were lined up on the track.

The 3 car of Wade Glover was not there for the make-up; he should started on the front row outside. Jimmy moved from 3rd position to 2nd, front row outside. Steve Ellison and Jimmy were on the front row. So the top 10 cars drew pills after they were on the track lined up for the feature. The last 2 of those cars shouldn't have even drawn a pill. I still don't understand what went on here.
