For Immediate Release

(Fredericktown, MO) The track facilities are really starting to come together and are getting CLOSE to being ready for racing. There is a new tower, new concession stand, new bleachers, and new concrete walls are in place. New restrooms will be constructed soon. There is still some work to be done on the track with finishing the guard rails in turns 3 & 4 and some fencing installed. While talking with Curley, he said “The desire is to open the track as soon as it is ready, we may still have some cosmetic work to perform during the week between races”.

We are hoping to open by the end of May. We will keep everyone updated on our progress and make an announcement as soon as the decision is made. Since the track was purchased by Curley and his wife Ann DeBold back in November, weather has been playing into that factor.

Opening Night at the track, we will have many events going on. We want to make this a special event for the track and the community. We are appreciative of the community’s support and hope to include the people of Fredericktown as much as possible. We also hope to have special give-a-ways for the kids that evening.

With the unfortunate passing of Jeff “Millsey” Mills, we will be honoring him with a special night at the races. There will be memorials for him, special speakers and we will begin an “Annual Memorial Race”. We have a date in mind, but need to make sure we can make everything happen to the level that Jeff would have wanted and deserved. If anyone is interested in sponsoring or providing for this race please contact Tracy Ruch at trruch@sbcglobal.net. Please also reach me for any requests for that evening.

The new tower at the Fredericktown Raceway will be named in honor of Jeff “Millsey” Mills. It was made special for him and will be dedicated as such. There will be a plaque and signage naming the tower in Jeff’s rememberance. In the office, we will also hang pictures of Jeff and his special posters in celebration of his life.

The racetrack will not be changing names. It will remain Fredericktown Raceway.

We have an announcer that has agreed to step in at Fredericktown Raceway. His name is John Pusateri (JP). The Management Team at the track would like to welcome him. John and I have been working together for a few months, and I’ve found that he is very ambitious and will bring his own style to the track. John understands that Jeff Mills was a huge part of our racing scene and WILL NOT be replacing Jeff. Please be patient as he steps in and gets rolling. Welcome JP!!!

JP has also agreed to maintain the Fredericktown Raceway website www.fredrock.info. JP and I will be updating and posting all information on there as we get it. It will also maintain point standings and other information pertaining to the track.

As you can see there is a lot going on behind the scenes. The management team would like to thank everyone that has volunteered time to get the facilities to where they are today. We look forward to a great season once we open.

Thank you,
Tracy Ruch
