From a Fans view point what is the biggest change you would like to see at Belle-Clair Speedway for

King nice idea but I see a lot of fights about people blocking there view.
Move the fence outside on the front stretch beck about 2 feet so there's more room to walk. the person with the railing idea for the food has a good idea but as it is its too crowed back there. If you think the lines are too long with the crapy foof wait untill you see how many people buy when it taste good. :)
YA an end of the year BYOB BBQ like St. Charles used to do
I quit drinking but the beer vender was a classic

People, the food is a little problem. The problem with Belleville is favoritism and the flag men treat the drivers like a piece of ****. I drive there every Friday night.

how about doing something about the official(s) that give the impression that they have favorites on the track......I saw way too many boggus calls from turns 3&4 last year from both in the stands and from the infield.....I have been an official and I know that it is not hard to be one and to make a call.....make the right call and if your buddy gets mad at you .....who cares......if he is a real friend he will understand .....
Seems it’s always been that way with Allied. Back in the early 80’s I was a pit crewmember for a very competitive car. During a championship feature our car was in the lead when a lap car spun out in front of him blocking the track. Our driver ducked into the infield enough to avoid a collision. The corner flagman called the caution on our car. Our drive had not made contact with the spun out car. After a long period of our driver complainer to ever official he could talk to from inside the car he was put to the back. The corner flagman who made the call was the cousin or nephew or some relation of the spun out lap car. After the races when it was too late the corner official admitted his mistake.

Before this past season I could count the number of times I’d returned to Belleville on one hand. The way they officiate just infuriates me to no end. One of your weekly late models had their feature position scored wrong on two occasions in the few weeks I attended this past year. He’s not a frontrunner and the cars scored ahead of him in error are apparently part of the in crowd so I guess it’s OK in the eyes of the almighty Allied Auto Racing. A lot of things have changed since 1982. The lights have come on at Wrigley Field. The country has elected their first black president of the United States. But we still have the same old Belleville and Allied Auto Racing.

schii t happens quickly at the bull ring is you think its so easy go try it on things that can improve how about a drawing card every week rotating classes one week mods than sportsman ,lates etc etc

grandstand ideas

I have spent a lot of time in hot weather in those stands. Would love to have some air circulation such as a ceiling fan for each section or at least every other section. Also improve the speakers in the grandstands. Some of them seem to cut out once in a while.
Agree, the concession stands lines/system need some better planning.
Thanks Don or giving us the opportunity to say things nicely. I'm sure you like it better than the fans just raising cane when they get aggravated or just not coming back.
We need to keep BV improving. The competition for the entertainment $ is fierce in this economy.

1. beer cart 2. better speakers (in pits, and stands) 3. please enforce the time limit 4. spin twice in heat you only get 1 the rest of night 5. run the pure stock first every week. On the officials, ya some favor other drivers more than others, but its not as bad as it used to be. Thank you donnie

I never said a tire wall. I meant tires on the inside of the corners

Tires are not the answer for preventing crashes. My ex-wife was racing a SCCA Mazda RX7 SSA at Sears Point (Inineon Raceway,) Sonoma, CA. When she dropped a wheel off the track at turn 10 (high speed right hand kink) it pulled her off the course and at a angle to a large tire wall. When the car hit the tire wall it vaulted the car into 1 1/2 end over end flips, then barrel rolled 2 more times. The Mazda was destroyed she had a minor skull fracture (cracked the helmet, Bell took it to inspect). PS. She continued the season with a new car and won the championship in her rookie year, 1980.

Program

I would like to see the return of a track program with driver bios. I bet the fans would be interested to know that they have something in common with some of the drivers. Put a picture of the car and driver along with the bio. That way there would be a face with the name. As in the past, sell advertizing in the program to pay the cost of it. Just a thought.

i think the idea of lowering the admission prices and making up the difference in concession sales is a good idea. 'they' say you need to keep the shows short, the races too often last year went WAY past 11, they should get over by 10:30 at the latest. make a rule where if you cause a caution on the first lap you go to the rear. the track needs to stick to the time limits on the races. you need to penalize cars that chronically cause yellows, maybe 2 cautions in ONE NIGHT you are done. in the summer, when it is hot, give fans 2 free tickets for a bottle of water, you can buy 24 packs of water for under $3. start the year a little bit earlier, like belleville did in 2011, and go a little bit later in the year. at the end of the season, racers were looking for places to get points. take off a few nights during the summer for people to plan vacations, maybe do this when it should be hot and / or when other local tracks have a special race. some nights, i think the local tracks thin out the heat races too much to have more races, this just takes more time. there is nothing wrong with two 9 car heat races instead of three 6 car heats. i think the JR fan club idea they had 2 years ago with the autograph books were a good idea, i dont see many kids in the pits after the races anymore. part of that is because the races arent over until after 11 every week. it may help to have a person on the front straight with a dry erase board with the line up written on it to help the corner guys line up the cars. you need to black flag cars that have a lot of body damage, usually they just cause more yellows. i know curt puts a lot of effort into the track, but i think re-working it during the night is a bad idea, it takes a lot of extra time and usually it doesnt help.

I think there has been a lot of good ideas expressed here, I would like to add to Jimmy's comments about ending earlier- starting on time would help this. Rolling the first heat race at 7:20 or later sure doesn't help. Track conditions permitting, maybe have a hot lap session for the cars who can be ready earlier, and one at 6:30 as usual for later-arrivals. I sometimes bring some friend's kids, and they usually don't get to see more than the first feature before having to leave. i also would like to bring them to the pits after the races to get a more personal experience. Having one of the cars out in the parking area with the driver before the races is good too. Thanks to everyone who have posted so many good ideas, and thanks to Don for asking for input.

that brings up another good idea, this is something that highland did. they only hot lapped 3 classes each week. usually LM mods and either crates or sportsmans. this would save time. most people REALLY dont need to hotlap, plus it would same racers fuel.

#1) Have someone strictly enforce cars speeding through the pits. Someone is going to get hurt or killed. I will not use names, but every night there are idiots flying through the pits after a race just because things didnt go their way. Other times it was just because they are a legend in their own mind and want all eyes on them before they even hit the racing surface. I dont care what the situation is its not worth killing someone. There are kids in the pits, disabled people, elderly, etc. Its ignorant. Guys might use some self control if they thought it might get them tossed out for a couple weeks.

#2) The food... but I understand that it is in the works already.

#3) Rotating the order a little more would be cool. Having a different class run the final feature each night would create better racing perhaps because of the track changing.

#4) The track itself is perfect. We don't need tires in place of the inside walls. Certain guys will only use them to chop you off and junk your stuff.

ihave to disagree with Jimmy on one thing 9 car heat races usually take longer than 6 or 7 car heats plus if you draw the back of a nine car heat you have very little chance of having a good night
