Future stars of the sport will be born at Volunteer Speedway May 4th when FASTRAK Futures Stars Tour debuts
The brand new FASTRAK Future Stars Tour will make its debut at Volunteer Speedway on May 4th. The 602 Late Model Tour is for drivers ages 13-19 who have yet to win in Late Model competition. These young drivers will take on the high banks of “The Gap” in search of $800 to win. Each race will also pay $200 to start.
“It is exciting to usher in new generation of drivers to Late Model Racing,” said FASTRAK Vice President DJ Irvine, “It is going to be great to watch these young stars of our sport kick off their careers.”
A mandatory insurance test will be held for all drivers under 16 years of age on May 3rd at Volunteer Speedway. These drivers must submit a letter of intent to run the series, and a driving resume prior to the insurance test. An open practice will be held on May 3rd for all classes.
“Volunteer Speedway is an ideal facility for the insurance test and inaugural race, with a wide track,” continued Irvine, “There is plenty of racing room for these drivers to showcase their abilities.”
The FASTRAK Future Stars tour utilizes the Chevrolet Performance 602 engine, the FT200 and FT400 tires, and the AFCO Crate Spec Shock Series. Drivers must have a chassis that is 2015 or older. The tour aims to give young drivers a place to start their Late Model careers, while keeping costs in control.
