(SIMSBORO, LOUISIANA) Garrett Durrett and the Garrett Racing team will
travel to Chatham, LA and the Fast Trax Motorplex this weekend for the
renewal of the 'Southern 100.' This year's version is unsanctioned and will
pay out $15,000 to the winner. Garrett finished third there earlier in the
year in a $5,000 event, so look for the Garrett Racing #58cent Warrior / Pro
Power Ford Taurus to be strong in this weekend's event.

Garrett is coming off a so-so weekend in the O'Reilly SUPR Series / World of
Outlaws Late Models Series events at the Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, TX.
The #58cent was a little off during the heat race on Friday and finished one
spot out of a transfer position in his consolation event. Garrett made the
$12,000 to win feature the following night as he won his consolation race.
However, he broke a j-bar in the feature and had to retire early from the
50-lapper. He ended up finishing 24th in the star-studded field.

We were a little off on Friday, but we were a lot better on Saturday," said
the young Simsboro, LA pilot on Monday. "We just broke that j-bar and that
was it. I am looking forward to getting back to Chatham this weekend for
the Southern 100. That is probably my favorite track and I run pretty good
there."
