Tuesday and Wednesday March 27 and March 28 mark the 2007 beginning of Gateway International Raceway's Tuesday and Wednesday night test and tune programs. Gateway's Tuesday Night "Take it off the Street" program has been rebranded for 2007 as the SX Performance Fuel Systems Street Car Shootout. Although the name has changed, the program will retain its 2006 format of being the street tire test and tune. Additionally, the SX Performance Fuel Systems Street Car Shootout will be the hosting events for the SX Performance Quick 16, Tuner Showdown, Truck Challenge, Ranken Challenge, and High School Eliminator. The SX Performance Quick 16, Tuner Showdown, and Truck Challenge will be contested every Tuesday night throughout the season. The Ranken Challenge will run from April 3 through May 22 and Sept 4 through September 16. The High School Eliminator will run through the summer months from May 29 through August 21. The SX Performance Street Car Shootout will once again be the place to see the fastest and wildest combination of street cars in the midwest.

Gateway's Wednesday Night Test and Tune will remain the slick tire test and tune night which includes all slick-tired racing vehicles, plus all motorcycles and jr. dragters. Wednesday nights are the nights when you never know what you are going to see whether there's Fuel and Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars, Pro Mods, Pro Stocks, 10-5's, the best bracket cars in the country, junior dragsters, or motorcycles. The one thing that Gateway will guarantee for 2007 is the fastest street bikes in the midwest with the creation of the Doc's Harley Davidson Quick Street Bike. Gateway will qualify the fastest street bikes in one session of qualifying, taking the top 4 to run a "head's up" eliminator to see who has the fastest street bike. The Doc's Harley Davidson Quick Street Bike will be contested every Wednesday night with points calculated starting with the April 4 event.

Gates open at 5PM for each event. Racer entry on Tuesday nights are $15 with a $20 racer entry on Wednesday night. Spectator fees for each night are only $10.

Gateway Racing Fuel Partnership
Gateway International Raceway has once again "stepped up" its level of service to the drag racing community with the addition of Performance Plus Racing Fuels as the official fuel provider to Gateway's Drag Racing program. Performance Plus Racing Fuels, a subsidiary of Tri-County Petroleum, will become Gateway's "pure" pipeline to Sunoco Racing Fuels. Performance Plus Racing Fuels has a dedicated pipeline for race fuels to ensure the racing fuels get to its customers at Gateway International Raceway without any chance of contamination. Performance Plus Racing Fuels leads the industry by having a dedicated bulk plant for racing fuels only and transport trucks that are also dedicated only to racing fuels.

"Performance Plus Racing Fuels has also worked with us in the off-season to ensure that our at-track holding stations and pumps meet their high non-contamination standards. During the off-season, our holding station and pumps went through extensive tests and cleanings to eliminate any threat of cross fuel contamination or water contamination in the fuels," said Jason Dukes, Gateway's Manager of Drag Racing

Additionally, Gateway International Raceway has worked with Performance Plus Racing Fuels to create an $1 across-the-board discount on all racing fuels. So now, Gateway's Sunoco GT 260 100 street legal blend and Sunoco Standard 110 will be $7/gallon, and Gateway's ultra premium Sunoco SUPREME 112 will be $8/gallon. Methanol will still be sold for $4/gallon.

Finally, Gateway and Performance Plus Racing Fuels will be incorporating the Sunoco Improve your Performance Award into the SX Performance Street Car Shootout, Gateway's Tuesday Night Street Tire Test and Tune. Each night there will be a raffle among fuel buyers for a Sunoco Racing Fuel Hat, and a monthly drawing for a Sunoco Racing Fuel Jug and free entry. The season will conclude with a final drawing at the end of the year for the Grand Prize Sunoco Racing Fuel Jacket.
