Madison, IL - Gateway International Raceway's Championship Drag Strip
will host their very own Quick 8, 10.5" Tires showdown this Saturday night,
June 12th beginning at 7 pm.
The event the rules simply state that the rear tire must not be bigger than 10.5"
wide, but smaller tires are allowed. These cars are a little more difficult to
control and will lead to some wild rides in excess of over 200-mph! The first
qualifying run for the 10.5" tire program is at 3:30 pm. The program runs
throughout the day/night along with the regular bracket racing until 10:30 pm.
In Gateway's Regular Points Bracket Racing Dan Smith (Affton, MO) will
look to continue his early season success in the Pro E.T. class and look to
break the deadlock with J.R. McKague (Chamois, MO) in the Pro < mile
category. Defending champion Ron Rathgeb Jr. (Godfrey, IL) looks to pad
his lead in the Street E.T. category, while Noel Clark (Pro Bike), Don Klarer
(Street Bike), Kevin Goss (High School) and Michael Lauterbach (Jr.
Dragster) look to pad their points leads in their categories.
Spectator tickets are $10 for adults while children 12 and under are free. For
