Gateway International Raceway Weekly Recap

Madison, IL - Gateway International Raceway had a big weekend hosting the final round of the
Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Summer Shootout, the Jeffer's Midwest Pro Mod Series, and the second
to last event of the weekly drag racing points series.

Brad Scott (Rochester IL) and Zach Lueker (Kirkwood MO) each had great weeks as they both
earned $1,000 savings bonds and giant trophies for winning the Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Summer
Shootout in their respective age groups.

Aaron Hodges (Granite City, IL) won the Jeffer's Midwest Pro Mod Series event. The event
was rain-delayed on Saturday and continued on Sunday. The rain brought in ideal conditions for
the Pro Mods and Hodges took advantage and raced all the way to his first victory of the season.

Gateway's King of the Track Bruce Damewood (Macomb/Springfield, IL) extended his points
lead in Pro Bike by winning both Pro Bike races this weekend.

The Blumenstein family (Breese IL) also had a great weekend as Tolisa and Jacob both took the
lead in their respective Jr. Dragster classes.

Nelson Taylor III (St. Louis) and Charles Willis (Florissant, MO) won in Street Bike, Larry King
(Troy IL) and Sarah Bryant (Litchfield, IL) won in High School, Taylor Bowman (Cape
Girardeau, MO) and Valerie Woods (Cedar Hills, MO) won in 10 and up Jr Dragster, Jacob
Blumestein (Breese, IL) and Kelsey Beimfohr (Edwardsville, IL) won in 8-9 Jr. Dragster, and
Kevin Corzine (Overland, MO) won in Jackpot. The final rounds of Super Pro, Carl's 4 Wheel
Drive and Performance Pro, Street, and the 1/8th Mile Money Race were not run because of rain.

Hodges Wins the Wet Marathon at Gateway

Madison, IL - Aaron Hodges and his 63 Nitro Chevy outlasted the field to take his first
Jeffers Midwest Pro Mod win of the season. Hodges ran low-to-mid teens in each of his
elimination runs to bring home the big check after a long weekend that included
catastrophic breaks, rain, and finally ideal conditions for quick Pro Mod runs.

The weekend started and ended on a sour note for the winner of the first Jeffers Midwest
Pro Mod race of the season and first half season dominator Bill "The Thrill" Hill (St.
Louis). Hill was on a practice run on Friday night when he had a major engine
malfunction that left him on the sidelines for the rest of the weekend.

Saturday was a new day, but it also ended on a sour note for the Jeffers Midwest Pro Mod
competitors as the day was cut short, prior to eliminations, due to the damaging storm
that hit the metro St. Louis area.

Competition continued on Sunday and conditions were right for quick times. That's
where the nitrous boys of Hodges, and Donnie Little (Pleasant Hill, MO) drew the line in
the sand and ran away from everyone else. Little, the #1 qualifier, defeated Mike Bodine
(Independence MO) in the first round and the blown-supercharged Vette of Ron Muenks
in the Semis before meeting up with Hodges in the finals.

Hodges defeated defending race winner David Schorr (Grain Valley, MO) in his 815 C.I.
naturally-aspirated '04 Ford Escort in the first round and the blown supercharged Vette of
Jason Hamstra (Demotte IN) in the Semi's. Hodges had run better than Little in
eliminations so Little needed some magic on the line, but he handed Hodges the final
round win when he went after the tree with a -.001 light.

The nitrous cars had the advantage this weekend. But the Jeffers Midwest Pro Mod
Series will return to Gateway on October 6th to once again decide who has the fastest and
quickest naturally-aspirated, blown-supercharged, nitrous-injected, or twin turbo Pro
Mod in the Midwest. More more information, log on to www.gatewayraceway.com.

Lueker and Scott win the Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Summer
Shootout

Madison, IL - Zach Lueker (Kirkwood MO) and Brad Scott (Rochester IL) became the
first winners of the Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Summer Shootout. The Holzhauer Jr.
Dragster Summer Shootout was a three event series with increased payout and bigger
trophies for the 8 and 9, and 10 and up Jr. Dragster classes at Gateway International
Raceway. Both Lueker and Scott earned the most points in their respective classes to win
the Shootout championship.

Lueker started the night out tied for fourth in the standings with Braedan Holzhauer
(Nashville, IL). Both Lueker and Holzhauer won their first round races, and were put in
the driver's seat of the shootout when all the competitors ranked higher than them failed
to win their first round matches. Holzhauer then lost in the second round leaving Lueker
alone in the driver's seat. In order to overtake the Shootout points lead from Austin
Suhre (Worden IL), Lueker would have to beat Matt Schaeffer (Trenton IL) in the third
round. Lueker did so, and even went an additional round for security, ensuring him the
Shootout Championship in the 10 and up class.

Scott started the race in the Shootout points lead, and wouldn't have to work his way
through the pack like Lueker. Scott's chances were helped out when Brendan Holzhauer
(Nashville IL) and Kelsey Beimfohr (Edwardsville, IL), Scott's closest competitors, were
eliminated in the first round. The other competitors started the day too far behind Scott,
and his semi-final appearance was enough to ensure him the Holzhauer Jr. Dragster
Summer Shootout Championship for the 8 and 9 year old class.

For the championships, Lueker and Scott both won $1,000 savings bonds and the giant
Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Summer Shootout Championship Trophies.

Austin Suhre and Tolisa Blumenstein (Breese IL) finished second and third respectively
in the 10 and up class, while Jennifer Costello (Carlinsville, IL), Zach Kerr (St. Peters,
MO), and Brittney Pour (Red Bud, IL) each were tied for fourth.

Jacob Blumenstein (Breese, IL), John Vice (Paris, IL), and Brendan Holzhauer
(Nashville, IL) finished second, third and fourth respectively in the 8 and 9 year old class.

Jacob Blumenstein and Taylor Bowman (Cape Garardeau, MO) were the winners of the 8
and 9, and 10 and up class races, respectively.

Weekly Tidbits

Madison, IL - It's all Blumenstein in the Jr. Dragster Divisions as Tolisa Blumenstein
(Breese IL) re-took the 10 and up Jr. Dragster points leads and her brother Jacob
advanced into the top spot in the 8 and 9 year old points this weekend

*Taylor Bowman (Cape Girardeau, MO) and Valerie Woods (Cedar Hill, MO) each got
their first win on the season in 10 and up Jr. Drag competition at Gateway. Jacob
Blumenstein won his second event, and Kelsey Beimfohr (Edwardsville, IL) won her
third event, second in the last three events.

*Gateway's King of the Track Bruce Damewood (Macomb/Springfield, IL) swept the
weekend, winning his fifth and sixth Pro Bike victories of the year. He increased his
points lead to 78 points over Bob Lohr (Staunton, IL)

*Nelson Taylor III (St. Louis) did double duty on Friday night. First, Taylor hosted his
church's youth group at the track. Then he went on to win his first Street Bike event of
the season.

*Charles Willis (Florissant, MO) won in Street Bike on Sunday, his fourth victory of the
season. Willis beat his teammate Janie Palm (Florissant, MO) in the all-Willis Racing
final round.

*Doorslammer Kevin Corzine (Overland, MO)won his first Jackpot event of the season.

*Sarah Bryant (Litchfield IL) won her sixth High School event of the year. Larry King
(Troy, IL) won his second High School event of the year. Bryant leads King in the
season points by 19 points.

*James Bouckaert (Arnold, MO) is still leading the Street E.T. season points standings.
But he is getting chased hard by the Beach Family of Ron Sr. and Jr. Before the rain
cancelled the action at Gateway, Ron Beach Sr. (Sparta, IL) was scheduled to take on
Ron Beach Jr. (Troy, IL) in the final rounds. That would have been the first all Beach
final of the season.
