Gateway???

OK OK OK--- so it's a popularity contest ??? ha ha keyboard whiners How old are you? who said anything bad about Kevin--not I
The only way I can see this any other way then the one I eluded to earlier would be the fact that qualifying 99th and 95th would give a guy a B main starting spot on both nights as per the rule of the event. So me being without a set of rules of engagement in front of me , I could be very well be way off base with my assertions--- Some one explain to me how does one get 2 B Main starting spots???--Thats all I am asking!!!!. If that is the case in the rules, in that event, would openly admit I would be wrong of my assessment of the events that took place. Most of us old guys know that one not must not let ones hippopotamus mouth override ones hummingbird ass. If I am wrong about something , I am more then willing to admit it. Until then---my observations remain

It was a promoters choice provisional. Who did you want them to add?

JMO but I would have added someone into the field that has helped me to promote the show in any way, that didn't talk negative about it, and someone that helped me make money.

Kenny did all of these. I don't think anyone was as excited to be there as Kenny was, and he probably got alot of his fans there because of his social media.

Kenny didn't have to run the D or the C. He qualified into the heat with his second session time. And it was not 95th place, I don't know exactly his position, but he was faster then my second session time, and I was 69th. (Update: I went back and looked at the results, and he was 38th in the 2nd session, not 95th.) He qualified straight into the B out of his heat race. And straight into Saturday's B out of Friday's B. It is a progressive lineup system, and honestly a little confusing for a first-timer like myself. But it seemed to be done the way that it was explained in the driver's meeting. I don't see anyone complaining about the other 31 guys who transfered straight into one of the B's from their heat races. And I have no problem with the 1st guy who didn't qualify getting the promoter's provisional. Especially since he did just as much promoting himself as the promoters did.

First off the dome was NEVER slated to be torn down. Americas Center is 3 times busier now than when there was a football team here. Rams leaving opened the door for 3 more months of conventions that the place makes tons of money on. Secondly, this event is almost certainly going to happen again. Based on what ive been told and read, VP Fuels is on board for the next 3 years, and a final contract to have the event at the dome for that time frame is expected by the end of the calendar year. Revenue streams have to be sorted out to finalize details, but expect this event for the near future. Powers that be at the dome are extremely pleased with the event.

Yes qualifying night was a clusterf**k. It happens. Im certain that next year the event will be much more streamlined. The ventilation has already been figured out. Yeah the track got rough. I believe it had close to 3000 laps on it by the end of the weekend. Maybe a different dirt will be used next time. Ill say this tho. For the first year of the event, it went extremely well. Probably better than promoters dreamed possible. There is always hiccups, and the process will never be without flaw. But damn fine job. Not only was it a race, it was a show. The kind of show that will attract new fans and sponsors. This is what dirt racing needed. May not have been a grand slam, but definetly a home run. Great job!

I didn't go to the race but a few friends of mine did attend Saturday night. They said that overall it was a great event and much better than expected. The track did get a little rough but overall things worked well. They were speculating about the dust and fumes and neither were a problem which is amazing. I hope they do it again and I hope that they made some money. I wonder how their PPV broadcast worked out?

I am not sure how much farther u can hit the ball out of the park, nothing is perfect, every morning I get up I don't know how my day is going to be till its over, there are obstacles in everything. This was one of the coolest events that I have been part of, And I could have done a few things different when I look back, but still very happy the way it finished up for us, I like to be high on life, a Optimst not a pestimist , Thank You to the whole group of people who stuck there necks out, and made this happen, Great Job. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I Give it a A+A+A+A+ :)

I accept mKoch96 explanation of the process---I was getting my race info form race_monitor.com, so their info seems to be in conflict with Mkoch96nting explanation of the rules.
Thank You Mkoch96 for that level headed , courteous and first hand report. You,my friend , have a lot of brain cells that WORK !!!! I'll take that info as gospel as you competed directly in the GREAT EVENT PRESENTED BY THE PROMOTERS AND KEVIN AND CREW

As far as you Muddy Mike ------------until Mr. Dearing bans me from this site, I"ll continue to comment as many times as I feel necessary---so dont shout me down, you BIG TOUGHY!!!! Muddy Mike--- ha ha =----great blogger name ya got there!!! Merry Christmas, even though you are Muddy.!!!!!!! have some more egg nog !!!!!!!

I would have given an A+ had that Bittle guy closed the deal and won $15,000 this weekend. Instead i give the whole thing a b+. Nothings gonna be perfect in the first attempt, but the good heavily outnumbered the bad. I see no reason why they wouldn't do it again, and I'll be there all three days again when they do. Also congrats to Bittle for your finishes this weekend and a huge congrats to Tommie Seets, Jr. So glad the locals had such a strong run.

Question here---- for all you rules guys out there--- Saturday night race results---
I see in the results where Kenny Wallace placed 10 in the A main---fine--?
I read where he place 7th in the B main----?
HOWEVER ---(now I am using race-monitor.com for results; they could be all wet) BUT nowhere do I see Kenny 's name in the results for any of the C mains---nor see his name in the results for the D main results---- Was this a provisional ??? Did they qualify Saturday night? Someone help me out here ?????????
If its a provisional- I suppose that's alright---but IMHO--- if he was given the spot because his last name is Wallace, then I think that would be a affront to all the other 130 plus racers who busted their ass putting there machines out there to try and eat the alphabet soup to try and qualify for the A main---I understand he does a lot of good will for the sport, but if this is the reason,it just smells of favoritism. All I am trying to convey here is that there has to be a better way to award a starting spot to a "backmarker" rather then use of a famous last name. Especially in a venue as big as this one was,
nothing personal, Kenny---just a old man's opinion----been bouncing around these dirt tracks since 1962- (as a punk kid :) :) )

You seem to have some serious jealousy issues with the Hermanator.

how was parking, i was worried about. don't go to dome other new car show each year & since attendance times are spread out not a big deal. the weather was sure a bummer. where there a lot of no shows?

I went Saturday, showed up 20 minutes before they let people in a got a parking spot 100 feet from the dome with no problem.
I was surprised how easy it was

I parked at the Missouri Athletic Club right at 4 on saturday. No issues at all. Easy in and easy out, was back in High Ridge an hour after i left. When I go to Monster Jam I usually park at 9th and Cole parking garage, but this was way closer and cheaper. Parking was another potential issue I was expecting and was shocked when it never came about. Just another example of how well this event went.
