(Charlie Daniels Band and Travis Tritt To Play Post-race Concerts Following NASCAR Events)
Madison, IL - Gateway International Raceway is 'turnin 10' this year and today announced the 2006 T.R. Hughes Homebuilders concert series will feature country music artists The Charlie Daniels Band and Travis Tritt in post-race concerts following the NASCAR Truck and Busch Series races. The announcement was made live on the air this afternoon, by the presenting sponsor 93.7 The Bull.

The 10th anniversary oval season begins on Saturday, April 29 with the Missouri/Illinois Dodge ealers Ram Tough 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The event will again be a one-day show with practice, qualifying and the race all the same day/night. The Green Flag will drop at 7 PM. The 2005 Ram Tough 200 featured a dominating win by the #1 Dodge Mopar of Ted Musgrave. Gateway's Truck races have been some of the most exciting in the series in the past few years. SpeedChannel voted the 2004 Ram Tough 200 the best finish of the year in all of NASCAR. A spectacular post-race fireworks show and concert from The Charlie Daniels Band will once again provide fans with an unbelievable day and night of activities for their entertainment dollar. The Charlie Daniels Band has been rocking fans with their blend of southern country rock for over 35 years. The group has had such memorable hits as "In America," "This Ain't No Rag, It's A Flag," "Southern Boy," and "The Devil Went Down To Georgia." In 2005 Daniels released "Songs From The Long Leaf Pines", a gospel bluegrass collection.

The NASCAR Busch Series, presented by Shop 'n Save returns for a two-day show on July 28- 29. The historic 2005 event brought back Rusty, Mike and Kenny Wallace for the first and only time to their hometown to race in a major NASCAR event. An unencumbered NEXTEL Cup weekend date in 2006 gives Gateway another chance to be the showcase NASCAR event in the nation, and build upon the monumental success of the "Wallace Family Tribute 250 presented by Shop 'n Save". There will be a full slate of Busch Series action on Saturday as practice will run from 9:45 AM to 11AM, and qualifying will take place at 3:05 PM. The Green Flag flies at 7 PM.

What driver will be the next to tame the 1.25 mile oval and join the historic list of greats who have won the Busch Series race at Gateway in the past. The list of winners is nearly a who's-who on the NEXTEL Cup circuit. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle, Elliott Sadler, Scott Riggs, Martin Truex Jr. and Reed Sorenson. Following the race will be a spectacular fireworks show and the return in concert of country music superstar Travis Tritt. Back by popular demand, Tritt returns just two years removed from his performance at Gateway following the 2004 Ram Tough 200. He concluded a memorable day/night with a two-hour plus performance. Many fans told the Gateway staff it was the best concert ever in the T.R. Hughes Series. Tritt will bring his multitude of platinum selling records including, Here's a Quarter," "T-R-O-U-B-L-E," "Put Some Drive In Your
Country" and "Strong Enough To Be Your Man." The "Shop 'n Save 150" ARCA RE/MAX Series will kick-off the program on Friday, July 28 at 8 PM following a Busch Series practice.

"We are hoping to make our 10th anniversary season the most memorable to date," said Matt Strelo, Gateway Vice President and General Manager. "Coming off the success of last year, we felt we needed to step up and give the fans even more of what they asked for. With the return of Travis Tritt and addition of The Charlie Daniels Band, we feel like we have the best value in the sports and entertianment community of St. Louis."
