Once again the racing action in the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series proved to be the best racing action around this Saturday night at the Mt.Vernon Raceway.
In the first C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series Heat Race of the night, car #28, Troy Jacobs was able to hold off many challengers and score his first heat race victory of the year. Jacobs was followed to the line by C.A.R.S. WRS regular Chuck Still with "The Dauminator" Zach Daum finishing in the third position and a very fast Nick Lyons finishing in the fourth position.
The second heat race of the night was won by #6 Ray Emling Jr of DuQuoin, IL. Emling Jr was able to hold off an always fast "Gentleman" Joe Morris for the second heat race win. C.A.R.S. WRS regulars Chad Burks and Louie Baker Jr rounded out the top four in heat race number two.
In the feature event, Ray Emling Jr took the early lead with Joe Morris in tow. After many laps of competitive racing "Gentleman" Joe Morris was able to take the lead and never looked back taking his first ever C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series Feature Event Win. Ray Emling Jr went on to finish second, Chuck Still of Benton, Il went on to finish in the third position with an incredibly hard charging Nick Lyons finishing in the fourth position at the Mt.Vernon Raceway.
