Get your cheap gas now?????

Mean Old Ignorant Bastard
I'll bet a dime to a dollar that gas prices go up a minimum of .25cents/gallon as soon as the election is over (thursday at the latest) and that they go even higher over the next few weeks. I think we may have seen the last of sub $2/gallon gas for a while. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm filling up everything tonight just in case.

Had enough? VOTE DEMOCRAT

You better be wrong, but it is a possibility that could happen. If the elections have anything to do with gas prices, there is something wrong with the economy.

If you vote Republician tomorrow, you can bet that gas will go back to where it was last year, the only reason it is down now is because big oil is hoping to influnce the vote. They are scared to death that if the Dems win they will move to place a windfall profits tax on there a**.

Protect your own interests, not their's and vote Democrat, and if in two years they fail us then move them out too.

My thoughts exactly. Big Oil has been playing the game for nearly two months now. They jerk us around with the pricing every other week. They raise it .20 odd cents and slowly bring it back down to $1.97 over the next 10 - 14 days. Usually a penny per day. This happened even when a barrel of crude dropped $2.38 to below $60 a barrel last week. Had it gone up $2.38 we would have paid .50 - .75 cents more per gallon immediately. I'm curious why that two months ago OPEC's surplus increased mysteriously and drastically. You would almost think that someone was holding hands with and kissing a Saudi.

If a name has "democrat" next to it tomorrow, They've got my vote....I don't care how scarry looking Claire is.

You know it's kinda funny in a sence. He'll be out of office before you know it, and then there will be senate congressional hearings, and the guy will never see a day of jail time. And he'll be close to a billionare to show for it. It's the same man who bad mouthed Bill Clinton for fratranizing with a White House aid. Some how or another when it comes to 3 dollars a gallon, Monica Lewinski doesnt even come to my mind. The movie "Fahrenheit 911" want to far off when the statement was made about "George Bush caring about nothing but oil". What a Michael Moore sems like a genius. Again America vote Republican!

Reply!

Oil companies dont set the price of oil its based on what the refineries are willing to pay per barrel and what the market prices are set arent actually what midwestern oil producers get per barrel.I work for a BIG oil company here in Southern Illinois and hate the fact that people have this perception of this because its not true not all oil companies are bad!I hate that Gas prices are so high its not fair to anyone I know what it costs to produce a barrel of oil and it seriously is "gouging" in my opinion I think they should maintain some sort of regulation on what sort of a "markup" your "fuel" companies can use! Just my thought

These democrats crack me up.

I mean seriously, the line "have you had enough, vote democrat"?

The stock market and economy is doing great....unemployment is down and the democrats want to step in and raise taxes, yet some how certain people want to put them in office.

And for the guy saying give them two years and if you do not like what they do then vote them out. - You should know that the economy and most other subjects of importance take far more than two years to make a significant change. Usually around 4-8 years. So if you want to vote people in and out of office every two years....go ahead but they will never have a chance to get anything accomplished. Any proposal takes at least two years to even get through the senate and usually has to be altered several times before it even gets taken seriously.

So if you ask me if I have had enough.....I say no.....keep on doing what your doing republicans....it really seems to be working great. All the democrat candidates can say is "have you had enough...." but they give no explanation on what they are even referring to or how they will make a "change".

If in doubt....vote republican.....we do not need to try and fix something that isn't broken.

for me I win no matter if the dems take and the economy goes inthe tank I win which if they raise taxes and rasise the min wage it sure willand if the GOP WINS I win everthing is stable but do youreally want some wacko liberal from san francisco the being third in line for the president, THE GOP IS THE BEST OF 2 EVILS WHO WOULD SADDAM WANT to WIN come on dem screw up I need the over time

You only give part of the story. The truth is that gas prices stay high because oil companies will not increase refining capacity. The like to keep the supply low so that prices stay high its simple supply and demand. They keep refining capacity low, and run them at full capacity so that any change in oil supply affects the price off gas. Why dont you tell us about all the independent refiners that have been bought and closed. Tell us about CA gas prices which are the highest in the nation, because of a lack of independent refiners.

Big Oil IS partly to blame for high prices. And yes the republicans are not helping either ! The are in bed with big oil

Republicans crack me up. Yeah, I've had enough.

I could write a post that would go on literally for days, but I wont. Theres not point, intelligent people have seen for themselves the bad trip we've been on for the past 6 years. Yeah, I know, I'll hear the standard Republican rebutal. But you know what? I don't buy it. I'm fed up just like 65% of Americans.

Blast away silly republicans. I'm not listening. Lets see what happens at the polls today.

Your right, Oil companies don't set the price of "CRUDE OIL" they set the price of GASOLINE. So since you are in the know about oil refinery operations please explain this to me.

Why does the price of a gallon of GASOLINE, jump 50 cents/gallon when the price of a barrel of CRUDE OIL jumps $2.00. And why does the price of a gallon of GASOLINE only decline by 5 to 20 cents/gallon when CRUDE OIL falls by $2.00 per barrel? The refinery is quick to raise GASOLINE prices for any ridiculous reason. But they never lower them as quickly as they raise them.

If anyone remembers back in February, BUSH was supposed to have a committee look into Oil Companies gouging. Still haven't heard anything about that have we.

The stock market and economy is doing great....unemployment is down

The stock market is not great. Most stocks are down and I'm not sure how you think the economy is great since most major retailers are reporting less than projected profits.

Unemployment is not down. What most people don't realize is that these unemployment figures only come from the people who are still collecting unemployment. It does not include the people who's benefits have already ran out yet still don't have a job. Unemployment is way up if you include those people in the stats.

I believe that the stock market just set new record highs- Didnt it?

Hilliary Clinton is the answer to all our problems. Just remember- I said it first.
LMAO AK

I wouldn't count the people that have been on unemployent that long either. Unemployment is not meant for peolpe to live off of. It is setup to aid them until they find a job. Makes sense.

And Kingeddy......that is the perfect response. No answer......hilarious.

Glad to have amused you, but your not worth my time. Some people are like mindless sheep being led to the slaughter.. just go along with the flow not realizing whats going on around them or the eminent doom.

Besides, I didn't start this to be a political thread, I was talking about gas prices, but you seem to want to turn it into one. And in the typical republican way might I add. You twist the truth into what fits your agenda. Unemployment is unemployment. Why wouldn't you count those who's benefits have run out. There still unemployed...case closed. They can't find a job. Wonder why...maybe a bad economy..maybe their job was sent to another country

I guess since it doesn't fit your agenda you just don't count them to make the figures look good. How typical. Lie and mislead. God help you if I have to spell everything out in black and white. Guess thats why your a republican and like I said, not worth my time. But, If your interested in my opinions and what I feel regarding the asinine presidency of "W" feel free to browse some of my post under O.T. Bush is an embarrasment thread from last year. I think I pretty well gave all the answers your looking for there.

Now back to the real subject. Regular fuel jumped .19cents/gallon in my neck of the woods at 10:00am this morning.
Still no change in deisel...yet. Although the new lower sulfur deisel is more expensive than the old stuff by about .05 cents, and I'm not getting as good of mileage with it. And I expect it to go higher.

I'll up the ante on my earlier bet. I say the trend will change, and rather than seeing gas prices fall over the next 10 days by pennies a gallon per day as it has over the past month...I'll bet the prices goes up again before the weekend. My guess is $2.27 at the Quicktrip at MidRivers before next Monday.

Thats fine....we can talk about gas prices.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that gas prices go up and down all the time. So if its down now....it is a safe bet it will go up in the future. Probably near future. Complaining about it will not have an effect on the price though. Maybe the thread should be about alternative fuel sources.

I voted Republican but I kind of hope the Democrats take over the House. After two years of Nancy Pelosi as speaker, everyone will get a good taste of what it would be like to have Hillary as President.
