Godfrey's curfew questions

Thats what i was thinking. I knew that it wasnt the owner but i wasnt for sure of the relationship. I thought Wade was his son. Could be wrong though.

The owner gets a dollar for every admission. WOW! That means he would take in about 500 a night before we even inter the gate. I was wondering why it cost 11 admission to get in. He's pocketing that extra buck. I hope the other racetrack owners didn't read these post.

Hey maybe the $1.00 per head is the only rent Chad has to pay every night. Ever stop and think about that? Barry Seiler is probably a business man first, and race fan second. He has to pay his bills too. He used to race back in the 80's and early 90's. I haven't met many nicer people than him. Barry used to promote the race track in the mid 90's and I got the chance to work for him then. But one thing he is a no nonsense person when it is time to get things done.

The other racetrack owners are business men to but I never heard of any of them charging in extra buck to put in their back pocket.

I am very pleased that the entire Late Model program was completed last week, but the curfew still concerns me, especially knowing now that this is an owner-induced rule.

In my opinion, it would appear that Mr. Seiler has some kind of an agenda. Last year at the banquet, when it was announced that he had bought the place back from Pilkington & Rexing, the comment was made that they (Seiler & Ingram) might need the real estate at some point in the future. That's not a direct quote, I am paraphrasing, but anyone that was there can tell you the same. Knowing that, my first thought was that there would be a truck stop going in there soon, second thought was that Country Town would be re-located. I have pretty much retired the idea of Country Town moving. After the John Deere fraud case, the business was sold to Bill & Connie Rexing, who just sold the track back to Seiler & Ingram. So I have gone back to the truck stop theory.

But none of this is directly related to the curfew. Or is it? There are ulterior motives to almost everything in life. Does this mean he is A) trying to be a good neighbor to the Godfrey "elite", B) throwing all kinds of stipulations on the current leasees in an effort to force them out after one season,or C) he's a stern landlord who's trying to force his tennants into doing a better job at running the place?

If memory serves me correctly, Ed Bloom ran Tri City under different, but equally difficult circumstances. Even without concessions, he made enough money to move on to build Capital Speedway in Holts Summit, Mo.

well i say that if he don't like staying up late"which i really don't know if he does or not" but if there is a contract between them and chad is leasing it from him...ya would think chad could make the rules and make his fans happy...or maybe he is just being a kind guy to seiler by just doing what he asks him to do? i thought when you have a contract and leasing somthing from someone you can't change something that was not their when signed??? I hope not anyway or **** I might be in troulble with my properties "mortgage".

I guess I will have to PM Chad and ask him? So this can hopefully be straightend out....and then get ahold of seiler and ask him what he's "thinking" closing the track early like that to us.....lol..if i find anything out i sure will let you all know...

Godfrey Speedway

Ok,here the problem we have at godfrey speedway.i was there the other nite on friday during what i call the local allstars not the northen allstars.and during the mods raceing it took,8 min to get 1 car moved ,saw the wreckers just sit and watch.i feel that when you have a special dont run 5 classes that nite.that why they never get done with all the classes at the race.i have been to to many other tracks that get done on time not godfrey, maybe set a time limit on each heats,b-mains,and features just maybe they will get done.and there is a fine if they go over time limit.i think it either 100 or 500 so let work as a team at godfrey speedway

I do believe they said they have started putting a time limit on each class. I am pretty sure that was stated my one of the scorers....could be wrong though

I don't agree with some of what u just said but I do with some too....I agee with the towing ....now I don't agree he should be fined...that is just ignorant in my opinoin...oh and i agree with the time in the heats too...never been fined before i don't see why there or should I say "he" is starting it now....well i hope tomoro is a better night...:)

I was at the drivrs meeting when Chad said " He had a letter from Barry Seiler that said he had to be done @ 11:00 or pay the the lease, a large fine, and be done for the rest of season" he offered anyone wanting to read the letter the chance to do so Chad said nothing about the Village of Godfrey and a curfew it was all about Seiler. Maybe Chad should post a copy of the letter at the track for all to read so everyone will know what is going on. I know that I'm tired of paying to race and not getting to run my feature or only a few laps. Who knows what will happen week to week you may be fast one night then the next week the track is totally different then you don't run good at all, or tear your car up in the first feature because it is so muddy and not get to run at all.

Godfrey Speedway

Hey!All i can tell you is that is the truth about the fine. But maybe Chad should look at the car count when the come into the pits, and if there is not enough cars in a division just run the feature go by points.Maybe Chad would get done on time. Are just go to limit time on each heat, semi, and features like i said before.if not it will be like all the other times before some wont get some of the feature in so think Chad ok and ask other track owners how they can get an event in with out trouble like you have gottin into

I just think they should have the track worked in good, by the time alot of cars get there, and go straight to qualifying, it would save alot of time. I dont think you can just run a feature by points if there arent enough guys there in that division. Thats not fair to some of the other guys and think about if there is a new guy coming to the track for the first time, not a very good impression on him. I agree about time limits though on semi's for sure. Heats if you have to. But i really think Chad is doing a great job and i know he will get it figured out.

I agree thinking he needs to post this letter that you say he has and let us read it for ourselves!!!! I was pointing out the issue though about the time limit at the end of the night because of it being the "owner" creating this mess... and I do agree that there should be a time limit "if" needed on the semi's ...but not on all that would cause nothing but more problems!
