[Ventura, IA] - - It was "Checkers and Wreckers" for Hejna Brothers Racing this past weekend at Hancock County Speedway. After a few repairs to one of the cars, the "Super 7's" are schedule to stay close to home this coming weekend.

Mike Hejna was the class of the field putting his number "7" into victory lane Friday night at Hancock County Speedway (Britt, IA).
Mike lead early in the Rookies Rockin' Sports Bar Season Opener A-Main, and held off the field for his first win of 2005.

"Winning is always fun, but doing it at home is extra special,"
Mike expressed. "There are some tough drivers running weekly at Hancock County, so it's pretty cool when you can get the win."

Al Hejna started deep in the field Friday night at Hancock County, and did manage to work his way towards the front before getting caught up in an accident with just a few laps remaining in the feature event. It did more than just erase a solid Top 10 finish; it damaged the car.

"It's not bad, but it's going to take a lot of work," Al said. "If Cresco Speedway (Cresco, IA) would not have been cancelled Sunday, I think we would have missed racing that night."

The Budweiser / Rookies Rockin' Sports Bar / Skyrocket Chassis number "7's" of Al and Mike Hejna are scheduled to return to Hancock County Speedway Friday night and Cresco Speedway on Sunday night.
