GRABBIN’ DIRT
BY: W.K. THOMPSON

What an awesome night of racin’ at the ole’ “ROCK” Friday nite. Fans were gathered in the grandstands to watch their favorites compete. Along with our regular races classes we hosted a “VINTAGE CAR” night courtesy of Gateway Vintage Racing Association. I personally have never seen the Vintage Cars race and it was a special treat. We all stepped back in time for a few moments as the older cars competed for 1st. place. Even the “Hotlaps” were exciting as the excitement built within the stands. We had a visit from young Jeff Asher, Jr. (who totaled out his car last Friday night); to let us all know he was back, well almost, to his old self, still with a few aches and bruises. We all wish him a speedy recover and looking forward to him getting back on the track again soon. The track was in super condition and the cars were fast.

Danny Moser, a Fredericktown native and well known for his racing skills, took his first FEATURE win this year in his Crate Late Model along with another FEATURE win in the VINTAGE CAR class. It was quite a night for “MO” Moser.

The Wal-Mart “RELAY for LIFE” Team raised almost $400.00 on their 50/50. Thanks to everyone who participated in the drawing. Cancer can strike anyone, anytime, so always give generously to this cause, without your help, research to find a cure would cease to exist.

Please join us for at “THE ROCK” every Friday night for family fun & excitement. Remember, “THE ROCK” is one of the few remaining HISTORICAL raceways in the state.
