Ya, chit happens. Just like the Exxon Valdez in 1989 and the countless other messes that date back as far as 1969. We are still experiencing the effects more than 20 years later.

Maybe when your sitting in your cardboard box, someone will walk by and instead of handing you a dollar, they will say "chit happens".

Drill baby drill...We need more emminent disasters to further destroy our planet.



And is it the governments responsibility to do anything about this? Isn't it the Oil Company responsible? Are you saying you want Obama to spend more of your money to help big oil? Who coincidentally just finished a pretty stellar run with an oilman in office for the last 8 of 9 years.

The only thing the government should do is smack them with hefty fines everyday it continues and not allow them to pass the buck down to consumers.

It's ironic that the find in Williston Basin in Montana and N. Dakota, gives us access to 500 billion barrels of light sweet oil, which would only cost $16/ barrell, we wouldn't have to drill off shore for years. I guess we could wait until Iran shuts down the straight of Harmuz, and they have us by the -----

No one is saying that we should do away with racing. No one is saying eliminate the internal combustion engine. Race cars can and do run just fine (and just as fast) on Alky (which is not a product of fossil fuels). Hell racers could even continue to use gas. If we reduce our dependence wouldn't the price of a barrel eventually go lower, even after OPEC reduces production? We will never be 100% independent of fossil fuels. But we could and should drastically reduce and its just silly that we are so dependant on fossil fuels. Other countries are (and have) reduced their dependence by nearly 40%. The only reason we are not doing it here is because no one has figured out how to charge consumers for sunshine and wind.
 
Other countries are not a depenandt on motor vehicles but hey we have e85 at a whopping 7 miles to a gallon with a 2,2 ecotec motor that can 35 on the hwy on gas

I don't agree with this statement. Cars per capita, the US ranks 7th.

Other countries are retro-fitting cars with hydrogen generators relatively cheap. Its even cheaper when you realize the ROI, since even rain water can be used (and rainwater is free)
