Greenwalt wins Hobby Stock title at SFCR, Kennedy wins the Modified title

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (Sept. 20, 2003) Jeremy Greewalt of Caledonia's second place finish in the Hobby Stock feature Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway was good enough to earn him the 2003 track championship in the class. Entering the night Greenwalt lead 2002 track champion Chuck Adams by only two points going into the final night of competition, but during the feature it was Greenwalt finishing two spots ahead of Adams to secure his first track title.
Matt Eaton was the winner of the feature with Chris Boyd third and Karl Francis fifth. They were followed by Nathan Gibosn, Randy Forster, Kevin Mosier, Doug Savage and Billy Mayberry. Eaton won the first heat race with Greenwalt second and Boyd third. Francis won the second heat with Gibson second and Savage third.
In the Modified class, congratulations go out to Kenny Kennedy of Farmington for earning his first track championship. Kennedy did it in style by winning the feature event Saturday night. Timmy Hill settled for second place with Dan Zander third, Eddie Gross fourth and Tony Palmer fifth. They were followed by Tim Radford, Bob Waterhouse, Kevin Hulsey, Glenn Miller and Lou Driemeier. Kennedy won the first heat with Tommy Worley Sr. second and Waterhouse third. Billy Ames won the second heat with Mike Crader second and Hill third. Radford won the third heat with Bill Gilliam second and Kasey Burch third. Adam Parmeley won the fourth heat with Billy Smith second and Zander third.
Joey Montgomery was the winner of the Sprint Car feature with Timmy Montgomery (recently named the Driver's Seat "Driver of the Year" and had previously won the 2003 class title at SFCR) taking second place, Lee Dunn was third, Daren Clayton fourth and Todd Rowland fifth. They were followed by Rod Crabdree, Timmy Moss, Jason Keith, Greg Burns and Jeff Davis. Chad Souders won the first heat race with Burns second and Davis third. Clayton won the second heat with Moss second and Kevin Bess third. Joey Montgomery won the third heat with Dunn second and Steve Short third. Timmy Montgomery won the fourth heat with Rowland secondn and Crabdree third. Dunn won the trophy dash with Rowland second and Clayton third. Tommy Worley Jr. won the "B" main with Keith Burch second.
Christopher Massey was the winner of the 600cc feature with Kent Buckley second, Dustin Barks third, Casey Barnhouse (the class champion) fourth and Junior Ferguson fifth. They were followed by Kenny Adams, Jeremy Boyer, Matt Dotson, Jimmy Bridgeman and Tyler Thompson. Massey won the first heat race with Barnhouse second and Barks third. Buckley won the second heat with Ferguson second and Eric Ziegler third. Adams won the third heat with Joey Boyd second and Boyer third.
This Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway the Twin 50's will be held. The Twin 50's are 50-lap features with both the Modifieds and the Hobby Stock classes. The Pure Street class will also make it's first ever visit to the track. Prior to the evening of racing, the Racing Association of Mini Stocks will host an auto parts swap meet and garage sale at the track beginning at 8 a.m. All remaining items will be auctioned off to the high bidder at 3 p.m.
Admission to the races on Saturday night for the Twin 50's is only $5.
