Hamerle and Klein

Yeah I was thinking black numbers with white outline but he uses red numbers now so I wasnt sure. As for Don I had no Idea. lol
As a little kid, I remember watching Mike race the gremlin at St. Charles Speedway and he was my fav driver!!!! Thats my inspiration for building this model.
 
Mikes car was school bus yellow with black & white lettering.
Dons car, Not sure of the true color,Maybe these pics will help.

The correct color for Mike's Gremlin was GM Orbit Orange. Not school bus yellow.

The numbers were actually done three different ways.
1. Solid red number with black shadow outline.
2. Solid black number with red outline. (no shadow effect)
3. Solid red number with white shadow outline

I'm trying to get pictures uploaded for you but keep getting error messages.

These should help if I did this right...lol Had these around the house, my grandpa lettered Mikes cars back then. Not sure how detailed you are getting so I included one of the back panel that was removable for the fuel cell, a little fuzzy hope they help!

I'd like to start a collection of old vintage pictures to put in my garage!!!
That would be one hot little car right now!!!! I wish it were still around, like in my garage! LOL

I can copy all my old pics, 4 you. I have about 2 albums of 8x10's. Look at Trashdogs stuff, he has tons..
 
Jason that would be awesome, I would pay to have them copied.

If Mike still has them I would put money on it he would not want to get rid of them.
I'd love to pick one up!!!!!!
 
Those pics really bring back memories. I used to ride to the track with Marcie in Mikes truck and watch Mike race @ St. Charles Speedway on Sunday nights. Anyway, as far as I know those old race cars are long gone, I believe they got crushed as scrap metal. If you have any questions about the cars you could probably call Mike and ask him directly. He's a good guy and he use to be listed in the white pages under "Hamerle Welding and Steel" and also under "Action Auto" in St. Charles, MO on Hamerle Industrial Drive or Spring Drive. Good luck with the models.
