"Hell Hath No Fury Weekend" up next for STARS Battle of the Bluegrass

One of the most anticipated weekends of dirt racing in Southern Kentucky, the "Hell Hath No Fury Weekend" will take place this Friday and Saturday, June 27 and 28 as Kentucky's Premier Dirt Late Model sanctioning body, the STARS Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts heads for the first time ever to the Clinton County Speedway in Alpha, KY on Friday Night, June 27 and the next night travels 45 minutes up the road to the Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY for the first time this season. There will be a complete show for the Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCars each night with Racing Optics/Bullzilla Graphics Time Trials, Heat Races, AFCO B-Mains and 40 Lap PBM Performance Products A-mains. The total purse for the weekend will approach $30,000 with each feature winner receiving $3000. The Late Model events will run under the STARS Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series rules and procedures.

So far in the 2003 racing season the Clinton County Speedway has ran six Late Model events with five different winners. Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY is the only driver to win more one race there this season. Other feature winners at Clinton County this year are Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN, Mike Luna of Sparta, TN, Mike Hawley of Paint Lick, KY and this past Friday Night's winner, Johnny Wheeler of Campbellsville, KY. Clinton County Speedway is located a 1/4 mile off of Highway 90 past the Wayne/Clinton County line. Watch for the signs. The track phone number is (606) 387-3308.

It will be the fourth ever visit by the BoB Boys to the Lake Cumberland Speedway and the first time this season. Previous Battle of the Bluegrass winners at Lake Cumberland are Dream IX Winner, Darrell Lanigan who has two wins and Timmy Yeager, who won the Battle of the Bluegrass season finale at Burnside, KY last October. So far in 2003 Lake Cumberland Speedway has been able to get in 11 feature races with Eubank, KY's Tim Taylor leading the points with his four feature win total. Other winners at the Lake this year include Timmy Yeager, Michael Chilton (his first career win), Bobby Wolter, Jr. (his first career win), Mike Marlar, Victor Lee, Dustin Neat and Johnny Wheeler. Lake Cumberland Speedway is located six miles south of Somerset, KY on U.S. 27 near Burnside, KY. The track phone number is (606) 561-8994.
