As We Have For The Last Several Years My Family Will Raffle Of A Helmet That Has Been Autographed By The Nascar Stars In Attendance At I-55 On Nascar Night..the First Year The $$$ Went To Pettys Camp,the Second Year It Went To Special Olympics,,,this Year I Thought About Keeping The Money Local And Giving It To Mike Bush's (chanl.5 Ksdk) Mda Camp.this Is Just A Thought Right Now As I Would Like To Have Mike Bush's Blessing (i Left A Call But Have Not Heard Back Yet)..i Welcome Any Other Worthy Ideas,last Year In 100 Degree Heat We Raised Nearly A Grand...my Money Says That We Can 2x That Ammount This Year,thanks.lenny G.
 
Non-profit?

I don't know if you require it to go to a non-profit for tax purposes, but I would suggest donating it to the Saint Louis Auto Racing Fan Club and have the money earmarked for the special Lake Hill event that they are planning.

I know that the owner of that property is incurring some expense for that place too just to give everyone a chance to say goodbye.

Regardless of what you plan on doing with the proceeds... thank you for doing it. I am sure that whatever you chose... will be a worthwhile cause.

You may even split it up between several useful purposes.

How about contacting Make-a-wish and see if they have any youngsters who might want to attend the Busch race at Gateway... use the money to buy tickets and put the family in a hotel for the night.

Hell... there are many many ideas.

As the father of a 10 year old who is one of "Jerry's kids" I can tell you that money would be very welcome. This past week we went and spent the day at this years MDA summer camp, what a wonderful thing camp is for these kids. Channel 5 and Mike Bush are amazing people and the kids love camp. If you need any help getting contacts should you decide to take this route I can put you in contact with people at the MDA who can help get you to the right place.

i dont have no ideas but fireball who ever u decide will be a good choice i just wanted to say way to go for what you n family have done more should think that way
 
as a friend of the Mcduffey family, i agree with this idea. however, it would also be great if it were to be considered to give it to a member of law enforcement or a fire fighter's family to help with lost income/expenses(of someone who was severely injured in the line of duty) the jon brough family comes to mind.just a thought. thanks to fireball for this great tradition of unselfishness. art.
 
Lenny my favorite charity is The Smile Train--- !00% goes toward srevices to childen with speach problems, they claim that for $250 they can perform the surgery necessary to give a child the smile he never got at birth. I personally just gave one complete surgery,

THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT IDEAS,,WE WOULD PREFER TO GIVE THE PROCEEDES TO SOME TYPE OF DEAL FOR KIDS (I DO LIKE THE JUVENIAL DIEABEATES IDEA IF THE MDA CAMP DOES NOT PAN OUT)...AS FARS AS HELPING WALLY McDUFFIE GOES I HAVE TALKED TO KEVIN AND HE WILL LET US RAFFEL A AUTOGRAPHED HELMET AT THE SUMMER NATIONAL RACE WITH THE PROCEEDES GOING TO WALLY,THAT MAKES SENSE SINCE HE WAS HURT AT TCS..WE MAY NEED TO GET A EXTRA HAND AS MY WIFE AND ONE KID HAVE PLANS THAT NIGHT..ALSO,IF YOU PLAN ON RACING THAT NIGHT "PLEASE"BE SURE TO SIGN THE HELMET AT THE PIT SHACK WHEN YOU COME IN,(ALL CLASSES ARE INCULDED)THANKS...LENNY G.
 
still could use a few extra hands friday at tcs to sell raffel tickets and man the table,i talked to kevin and need to know who is comming so arrangements can be made to get them in,,all the proceedes wil got to wally mcduffy,also need to find out what needs to be done to get the money to him,,

Speaking of kids I met your's at Highland during the SN's. I think we saw him on a 4 wheeler at Morgan County the next night too....maybe pitting for somebody.....anyway, my wife and I thought he was a good, polite kid and enjoyed talking to him. I thought you might like to know that.
