Just wondering.. was that you announcing the races at Tri-State Speedway last night??

No. It wasn't me. I was grilling a 16 oz. rib eye at home last night. In fact, I have never announced professionally. I did do some interviews in the pits at a Mount Vernon Summernationals race a few years ago. I did audio work in the Army and was a radio and television major at SIU at one time but have never worked in the booth. I thought about it but figured that would limit my being able to go where I wanted to go when I wanted to go.

I guess I should ask was the announcer good, bad or just plain dull? If he was good thanks for the compliment. If he was bad or dull I'll just say that the steak was just right.

Ok i was just wondering.. I use to help Donnie Tudor out some at Mt. Vernon and met you once i do belive but thought maybe it was you! Man grilled steaks and did not even invite me.. i see how this works.. and i had to have a track burger :(

Sorry about the lack of an offer on the steak. I probably did meet you around Tudor's rig at some point. Joann was just reminding me that you did the Tudor and McCammon stickers. I am sure that you remember Juli. She graduated from Junior college last weekend and is on her way to being a veteranarian.

I just saw a post on 4M about track food. Somebody said they thoguht that Haubtstadt had great burgers. I guess it doesn't compare to a ribeye though, huh?

I guess somebody needs to kick Tudor's butt in gear and light a new fire. There just seems to be no fire left.

Brickmover, do you know where Donnie Tudor is hiding?? He had told a fan of his, then she told some of us, that he would be racing at Mt. Vernon last Sat. night. But no show. He must have found one of those doublemint girls again. lol

Oh yeah.. I remember Julie!! Like was said.. How could you ever forget her!! lol Your right the food at Tri-State is not bad but.. nothing like a steak!! lol

As far as tudor.. I dont know what has happened to him.. I have tried contacting him several times but with no results.. seems as if he has fallen off the face of the earth! It would be nice to hear from him or at least see him in some results! If i hear anything outta Dyuno Don I will pass the info on!

One major factor I am aware of and can speak of is the fact that his dad had some serious health issues a while back. Donnie's dad was a major part and influence in his racing. It may be that his dad can not go any more and that may be a big part of what put the fire out. I understand that there was another event in his life that he possibly regrets and that also has taken some fire away.

Personally, I feel that Donnie has always been a driver who did better on tacky fast tracks, maybe even a bit rough. It seems that all tracks today are dryslick and one groove. It seems that Donnie has struggled to find a car that fits his driving style and is good on dryslick tracks.

your exactly right with all points of this reply! Donnie was bad fast on tacky and rougher surfaces! Seems like he was awesome in his Rocket and GRT cars when he was running them then went to Warrior and began to struggle from then on. i know when he was running Pennyrile Speedway and Windy Holow SPeedway back in the days he was very hard to beat because both the tracks fit his style, He also had several great runs at the Mt. . I hope that some day soon we can see Dyno back in action and George right there with him leading the way! Heck if George can't kick him in gear.. NOBODY can! By the way Motormouth... Tell Julie that I said Congrats and hello for me!

Talked to Billy Millikan this last weekend and was told that Donnie is expanding his Snapon reponsibilities and is going more toward management so is spending alot of time trying to get it going and hopefully will be back racing as soon as some of the pressure
from the work side get taken care of.

Donnie Info....

I talked to Donnie 2 Saturday's ago while I was at Mt. Vernon. He wasn't there, but I called him from the track. I won't go into great details of our conversation, but what I can tell you to satisfy wondering minds is, yes he did take a management position with Snap-On, his family is fine, he has misplaced his desire to race BUT....will race when the urge hits him!! And when he does...I'll be there!!!
