yea but if the leader chooses the high line and the 2nd place car is in the low line he might have a better chance to get on the inside of the leader. same for the 3rd place car if the leader chooses the low line.

I predict there WILL be more yellows and it WILL take longer to line the cars back up each time. Look how long it takes just to get in single file. Drivers will have no idea now. Remember, we don't have radios to tell the driver where he is supposed to be. Every yellow flag adds minutes to the program. Now add more minutes for double file field alignment. Do you really think fans will enjoy watching even more yellow flag laps? I doubt it.
But hey, there aren't many responses here in support of my view so apparently I'm in the minority. That's fine. I'll not say anymore about it.

I think what openwheel is trying to say is we wont notice the time difference on each seperate race. But over the course of a month or 2, when we are not getting out until later, people will notice. I dont have any kids, but most parents dont want their young kids out at 11 or 12 or later. When that starts happening, people wont come back.
Another point is from the racers point of view. Unless I am wrong, there are NO other open wheel drivers posting in here. I could care less how a car with fenders restarts. NASCAR makes it work. I always go back to the way any other open wheel class on dirt restarts and guess what? WoO - cone, USAC - cone, ASCS - cone, All-Stars - cone, MARA - cone (a little different, but single file).
Yah, it may be exciting for the fans, but if the racers arent happy, they wont come back and that means the excitement will be few and far between.

i think the only fair way to decide upon this is to take a vote the first week..... but i think the vote should be within the classes bc i know the starts are probably not the best for the open wheel cars but with the cars with fenders its not a bad idea so if the cars with fenders want to start this way let them and if the open wheel cars dont..... dont make them
