here is my thought,,if the heats are set and only,say 3 cars show up for that heat and automatically make the show that would be a bit unfair to those in a full heat,why not have all mods pill draw and line up heats like that,i would think that should not be a issue with the lates............................JMO.............
 
Has the issue been addressed about a car that was there the first night coming back with a different driver? Can a driver that was there the first night race a different car and keep his spot in the line-up?
 
I'm pretty sure you can't verify that a driver is in his same car that he qualified in. So that is out the window.

I also don't think any driver that wasn't qualified can get in someone else's car.
 
It still seems like such a messed up deal. I don't know if Highland is getting their moneys worth. A record setting $10,000 to win show, and there is so much controversy. And, UMP is not even going to be there? Wish everyone the best, and I'll be there, come hell or high water. LOL
 
UMP will be there. I'm not sure how that got started.. The scorers UMP hired for the SN tour won't be there.
 
Looking at the lineups, about 20 of the qualified cars in each class are there pretty regularly on saturday nights, so I'm sure you can count on them being back. I would assume most of the bigger name late model guys on the list are planning on making the Paducah, Pevely, Highland weekend. My guess would be 28 mods and 34 late models will make the return trip.

As far as the driver/car question, I think everyone is hinting at one specific car/driver combination that has been obviously different for the last few weeks, but nobody wants to mention any names. It's not my place to single anyone out and it makes me absolutely no difference where this specific driver starts or what car he is in because he would beat me in a wheelbarrow with a flat tire. Who knows, maybe he will be back in the car that he qualified in for this one night anyways.

OK, here is the deal with a different driver...

A different driver can drive a car that is already qualified but must start on the tail of the heat. That different driver can't bring their own car, they must drive the car for the team that is qualified.

This is straight from UMP this morning: A different driver can drive a car that is already qualified but must start on the tail of the heat. That different driver can't bring their own car, they must drive the car for the team that is qualified.
