Highland SN Late Model & Mod Heat Lineups for Sunday!

So wont let new drivers come race. But will let new driver come in and race a car that's already qualified?? The driver is locked in not car! Ump this is a joke

OK, here is the deal with a different driver...

A different driver can drive a car that is already qualified but must start on the tail of the heat. That different driver can't bring their own car, they must drive the car for the team that is qualified.

Yes, this is what I was saying on a different thread when Jason Feger come to Macon last year and ran the #111 crate car with the supers after a rainout... he had his car there as well but he didnt race it.

Who gives a crap about who is in who's car. Most of the time that makes them a little slower most times cause they haven't got the car figured out yet. Do I agree with the field being set, no, but am going to be there for a great change of pace on a Sunday. And if i was there as a driver, I sure as hell wouldn't being worrying who was there and concentrating on my own stuff. People get into peoples heads before they ever unload a car.

that all make no sense to me? how do you know if the car was already qualified? did they record chassis numbers or somthing? Heck if you waited at the pit gate and picked a car that didnt return whats to stop you from saying your car is that 1? bodies change ,wraps change who can tell?

You all are making mountains out of mole hills.. It doesn't have to be the same chassis.. There is no way to verify that... Probably won't be but 1 or 2 drivers that weren't there that would drive someone else's car that is already qualified.

The idea is you would know if Scott Bloomquist showed up and put a 16H on his door that it wasn't Hammerle's car.

The chassis thing is easy to understand Jimmy. The problem is letting the 1 or 2 drivers that weren't there drive a car that was already qualified. If they are going to allow that they might as well allow anyone to race.

If driver didn't qualify he doesn't race that's how if that's what they are going for it should be.. Or else I should call Feger up tell him to say I bought car from him but I'm going to let him drive it at highland!! Hmmmmm. Spot for sale here... Spot for sale...!!!! Ump has out did themselves on this.. Bob Isn't rolling over in his grave he's digging that hole deeper so he doesn't here all the complaints. I don't think locking the field was right. Start whole night over. But if these grey areas are going to show up its even worse!!

Jimmy it doesn't matter if its only 1 driver or 20. It's wrong. The driver qualifies not car. So if they didn't put a lap up to bad so sad sit in the stands!!

I'm just the messenger.. I went and asked what was going to be allowed, so I posted it.

I assume there won't be many that will do it.

Well the driver is Mike Harrison I would asume that is who people are talking about because he is not with Meskle, however you spell it, the 24H car.. So what do you think he will do I was wondering the same thing about what car he will be in.

Harrison is qualified. In my opinion, he should start where he is scheduled to start in the heat. He is just changing cars, there is no way to tell what other drivers changed cars.

I to am going to be in a different car cause I blew the engine in the 55 so it is not just mike that is changing so you guys should really just show up and watch some good racing and be thankful the track is making this show up

Thanks Chris smith

Here is a scenerio that will throw a wrench in things..

If Harrison shows up to race in another car and if Maschal shows up with his car with another driver. Do they both get to race?

You are to funny jdearing. As long as they all show up and have some good racing who cares. I just had to through Mike's name out there because he always gets bashed. I guess the only ones that would really care are the drives me myself as a fan I don't care who is in what car. Let's go racing and have fun.

You posted what I was thinking. Talk about grey areas..... If Feger shows up to race a car that's already qualified (or his own car with someone's body that is qualified) no one will be more surprised than me if they let him race. Even if they let some other replacement drivers race. Just my opinion.

Here's something else to think about...Harrison is qualified but will be in a different car, correct? Is someone else is driving for his former team now? If so, will that team also get a spot in the show? The reason I ask is it's been posted that the locked in positions go to the car (team, or car and presumably not the driver). IF that is the case the car (team) should get that spot and not Harrison.

The point is if the field is locked, the field should be locked....as in team/driver combination. ANY exception is wrong. More wrong than the decision to lock the field!

I'm not so sure Mr. Memmer is digging deeper to get away from the (justified) complaints or digging his way out so he can slap some sense into the people calling the shots in UMP these days.

Jimmy, I had started to reply and got called away. That scenario is exactly what I was thinking about. Too bad the folks at UMP don't think far enough ahead to consider such scenarios.

Is this UMP's final answer on the subject? If so, I might just start taking bids on my locked-in spot. Put my sides on your car, tell them its my car with a different driver, start in the back of the heat race (where I was going to be starting anyways). I wonder what that spot would be worth to some of the good local drivers who couldn't make it on a saturday night, but can on a Sunday? Surely more than I would make racing myself.

Just like I said in a thread a week or so ago.
Heads-Rules get enforced.
Tails- Nothing Happened.

I wish their was a three sided coin, that could of been reserved for......."Make up rules as we go"
