First off, I would like to explain why the fair board made the decision not to line up by points on Saturday, August 23rd. We had a sponsor who wanted to make the night a double payout in all divisions in all 18 spots. We thought it would be more equal to give everyone a chance at the extra money by running the night as a regular race night. However, the sponsor withdrew their support of the extra money. This was not advertised because it was a verbal commitment. We would not advertise unless the money was in the bank ready to be paid out to the racers.
The fair board met tonight and because the extra money would not be given decided to go back to the original way of lining up for championship night. The Highland Speedway appreciates each race car that comes to put on the show every Saturday night. Without the drivers, car owners, pit crews, and car sponsors, there would be no show. We also appreciate every fan who comes to the races and supports the race track.
The Highland Speedway will end it's 2008 season on Saturday, August 23rd. The top ten in each division will be locked into the Feature. Payout will be the same as every other night of racing. Thanks, Sue Z
 
just shows that highland is run in a democratic mannor,,the racers spoke, the powers to be heard them and took the proper action...
 
Good luck to all the drivers this Saturday night, especially Robby Eilers and Rick "Salty Dog" Salters.
 
I have an idea....

why don't the top 6 in points, in all 3 classes, race in the dash and where they finish is where they start in the feature? And whoever the sponsorship was can sponsor the dash lets say $100 to win. JMO!
