Highland Sportsman Feature Photo Finish

if thats how u gotta win one thats kewl.. seemed pretty unnecissary to me regardless to how kewl it was for the fans to see a close finish.. and for a 350 dollar paycheck. lol.. is it worth it..

yeah...it was a little pinch job for sure, but hey he is going for 3 in a row and he could have just put him into the wall, but when you are going for the win out of four you have to let it all hang out....Im sure casper would have gone at it the same way...Just good racing getting a little dirty!!! LOL Good job to both of them and what a good show!!! Seems like the sportsman and LM are the shows to watch this year

word is that casper had a junk rear end after the hit and that he had a brand new tire on the left rear and that got ruined so do u honestly think the win was as big as the after effect??????Dont think so but o well
Congrats on the tough racing this weekend boys

I sure wouldn't feel good about that win. If you can't win without putting someone in the wall or holding your own line, you aren't a very good racer! Thanks for the reminder on why we don't race there!

I have raced against Russell for years and he is not one to tear up other people’s equipment. I’m sure this is not what he intended to do when caught up in the moment of going for the win.

first of all, it was a good race, casper had a straightaway lead that eilers made up with about 4 laps to go, he caught him going into to turn one and went low with eilers on the inside and casper on the outside and were racing side by side down the back straight. As for the contact im sure eilers didnt do it intensionally and i think these 2 teams are freinds on and off the track and im sure they would help each other in any way if they could, they both were racing hard for the win, and it is short track racing. As for you not racing there, bring it out and see how you stack up to the fast cars. P.s. If you werent there you wouldnt know and i wouldnt make comments on what i didnt see.

Aww, poor Hammer Head, did I strike a nerve? Good Lord, calm down. I am entitled to my own opinion, as are you. I am not the only one that commented negatively, so please attack everyone else too. Where did you finish this weekend?

Funny, since you are implying that my husband is "slow", why did he beat and lap up to 8th place at the Fair race in 07 against all of those "fast" cars? Hmm, interesting isn't?

Jimmy Cummins is an AARA Legal car, and he runs with your "fast" cars every Saturday, so you hold no support to your statement. Gary Haynes (another AARA car) won the Extreme Series against your "fast" cars as well.

As I said, I am entitled to my opinions, so don't attack me for stating them, especially since I was simply agreeing with others on this thread.

Hammer Head your comment about the FAST CARS is just , TOO funny!
This is off the subject just a BIT! Well maybe a LOT!...This is the same class that pushed to have a 400 plus cubic inch class. It has become a rouge class. There will be the same 5 or 6 cars that win all season. Many race on a budget and cannot afford a 3000 dollar block, ( or maybe some of us have better sense ) ..... AND don't tell me there, not there because I was at the meeting, when the subject came up. It"s basically a run what you brung, slap on a 500 Holley on (because thats all they're going to tech!), class! Why would Tommy want to bring it on over, an Allied motor doesn't have a chance, unless you have to change your gear ratio every week! Maybe if they would have a sensible engine rule they would get more cars, but then you would have to deal with the possibility of being stuffed in the wall or a tire, for a pass.
Look at Allied sportsman car count on Saturday night at Peavely, #30 -35 cars a night. They must be doing something right!

According to the Highland Speedway Results from the Fair Race 2007--your husband did not lap any cars in the feature--he wasn't even there!

I just posted what I thought was a good picture of a close finish. Although there was some contact coming out of turn four, I didn't see anything that made me go "Wow, I can't believe he just did that".

I'm sure the adrenaline was flowing as they raced side by side out of turn four. Neither were going to lift. I'm sure MANY other racecar drivers would of raced the same way coming out of turn four to the checkered flag.

Jimmy, you see what you started!!!! Your always stirring the pot!:)
