Highland updates 5.16.15

Hey 20rocks, I'd find a new favorite driver if I were you. You're going to have a full time job defending Mike Schulte's actions on the track all season.

He's constantly a problem. There's no way he didn't see Bobby getting out of the car (should he have been getting out in the first place...absolutely not), and that makes this SO MUCH worse. Very interested to see what kind of punishment the track and UMP hand out on this one. Very fortunate that no one got hurt.

1. When you slide up out of the preferred groove and someone comes underneath you, you shouldnt turn down on him until he checks up. I'm sure schulte felt like he was getting hammered going into 1, but its cause he left Bobby no room for entry.

2. Racecars shouldnt be used as weapons, especially under caution. UMP better do something this time and a slap on the wrist is not the answer.

3. Stay in the car! I get he was mad, but thank God nothing worse happened here!

Well maybe if they do ban him they would possibly allow him to do the intermission show on a weekly basis... I'm sure he would have no problem entering his car in the rollover contest on a weekly basis.....

I know Mike hes a nice guy but i dont see anything wrong with that pass Mike slid up 18 got under him. Was there something going on before what we seen on the video?

All the people saying this is a black eye for the sport are wrong. This is the kind of thing that brings people to the stands. This is the kind of thing that we all remember and talk about growing up loving the sport. No one got hurt, and it looks like I missed some good entertainment.

20 Rocks how can you justify this? August of last year Tony Stewart hits a kid in a sprint car and look how the world responds. Now you have this jackass pull this and your justifying his actions? How does this man even have a sponsor.

You're 100% correct, but this isn't the event you want saving your sport. Don't need someone in harms way every night on the track to bring the fans in. As Jimmy already stated, it took away from Weidner's incredible run to the front to boot.

I agree it's unfortunate that these are the things that draw the fans to the stands, but that is the mindset of most people. They come to see action and confrontation. We all remember the Super Shepp incident and the Gundaker v. Frye incident. Those are the things we will talk about forever. I don't want to see anyone get hurt and I dislike what happened because I hate seeing a good friend's complete character being judged over a mistake he made in the heat of the moment, but my point is that the people saying this is bad for the sport are completely wrong. The only way this is bad for the sport is if we get the law involved...

you are incorrect on both your posts on this topic. there could of been a Kevin Ward repeat at any point of this video. was that incident good for the sport??

fist fights between drivers might bring fans to the stands but this, where multiple people could of been killed at numerous times in a matter seconds is something that will completely kill the sport. if this a mistake that is made in the heat of the moment, someone needs to find another hobby.

I like mike he is a good person that just made a bad decision Saturday and maybe a couple others that I didn't agree with the last year or so but he is still a good guy in my opinion if I was the fair board I would give him a couple weeks off an make him pay for any damages that occurred during his little melt down and roll on with it everyone makes mistakes lol not sticking up for what he did just saying we all make bad decisions when we are mad hated to see bobs car get tore up under yellow like that

People saying it should just be a slap on the wrist are crazy... If it would've stopped after the 1st incident then maybe you slap him on the wrist, but with him coming after the car again and driving it into the infield and putting everyone's saftey into jeopardy with no driver to steer the car that's where I draw the line... People make mistakes, but he made more than 1'mistake in the incident.. Ridiculous!! Anyone trying to justify and say give him the minimum punishment is crazy.. As a person that has sponsored race cars before there's no way in heck I would want my name on the side of his car... His actions bring attention to your sponsorship also and not good attention either.. Grow up people before someone gets hurt... What if that car would've hit someone in the infield...we still ok with giving him the minimum?? You make an example of him right now so hopefully this doesn't happen again... If they let it slide with minimum punishment then what happens to the next guy that does it??

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a UMP punishment with any teeth. What was the going rate for a broken bone when you turn your car into a weapon??? 30 days?? Sam will probably just tell him to sit a week. Maybe the track will step up and do the right thing....and not just for Shulte....Duaderman put his hand on an official and left his car.

It dont make any deference who slide underneath who . You dont purposely ram an unmaned viehical in to the pits . He could have killed some one . Shulte should be fined big time and kicked out for the rest of the year for doing that .
Lets see this Saturday night if Highland Speedway has any rulles .

Don't hold your breathe on UMP doing anything,,,,this will put more people in the stands next week..LOL
