All the people saying this is a black eye for the sport are wrong. This is the kind of thing that brings people to the stands. This is the kind of thing that we all remember and talk about growing up loving the sport. No one got hurt, and it looks like I missed some good entertainment.
You're 100% correct, but this isn't the event you want saving your sport. Don't need someone in harms way every night on the track to bring the fans in. As Jimmy already stated, it took away from Weidner's incredible run to the front to boot.
I agree it's unfortunate that these are the things that draw the fans to the stands, but that is the mindset of most people. They come to see action and confrontation. We all remember the Super Shepp incident and the Gundaker v. Frye incident. Those are the things we will talk about forever. I don't want to see anyone get hurt and I dislike what happened because I hate seeing a good friend's complete character being judged over a mistake he made in the heat of the moment, but my point is that the people saying this is bad for the sport are completely wrong. The only way this is bad for the sport is if we get the law involved...
