No, MOJO, you are wrong. Before you start shooting your mouth off, you should go talk to some of the other drivers about Faust's driving, such as Martin, Weider and Salter, just to name a few. Faust took out Weidner on the first lap because he couldn't hold his line and then with absolutely no regard for any other driver than himself, causes a 6 car pile-up on lap 4. But Faust can do no "wrong" when it comes to the blatant prejudice from the Highland track officials. If Scott Kuhn is wondering why he has no cars and the fan base is falling off, step back and take a look. Hiding in the infield instead of listening to the racers concerns, you managed to run off more cars that won't be there for the MARS race or any other races. Deane Voigt

Kenny got side ways coming out of 2 on 1st lap with most of the field behind him. He got t-boned and went on over.

I'm with you, Lenny.
Back in my day if a track started this foolishness I just found another track to race at the next week. Most times the experiment only lasted one week!!!
I saw the mess they created last night at Highland, not pretty.

I cannot believe the lack of proper officiating at Highland this year. I do however think if the dwindling crowd in the grandstand is any indication they are in serious trouble. Mark Faust finally got over his pouting fit last night and came back to Highland after several weeks. Wether or not it had to do with tshirts he ordered and would have to eat if he didn't comeback or not it was a horrible return to racing. As usual the Duke or Whiny as he is known to most of the latemodel teams in the pits, display his blantent disregard for other peoples equipment. He literally wiped out half of the latemodel feature before lap 5 , causing serious damage to many cars. If I wanted to play crashem up I would buy a demo car not the $60000 I have invested in this one. Once again , the 20 blue shirts in the infield saw nothing. If these people are paid they need fired. When a driver buys a pit pass and enters a car the promotors and officials owe it to them to be fair.
The week whiny got mad he and Schulte had a contact on a restart. They went into 1-2 and one spun the other. Frankie is running high and hard, to pass Faust and has to go between the wall and their car. Guess who got put to the back? Frankie again. The promotors brother was the sixth car in the crash and the first one to line up in the front. Thanks for an awesome pix on Photo Billys website. Once again, last night Faust pulls his usual antics and many cars are destroyed but who gets charged? Mark Voigt and Frankie.
Mark Faust ran up and over the top trying to win the race on the first turn. It deeply saddens me to see what is happening to racing in the STL area. Tracks are suffering, fan base is down, cost are up and our HIghland promotor doesn't seem to care. The first night we were wrongly called we brought a our friend in his new latemodel. He won his heat, but got messed over in the feature. He has not been back. He had his cousin with him who races at Paducah checking out the track to possiblly come there. He hasn't came either. Last night the 33 frankel said he never understood why Highland cars drove so far to race at other tracks but after his first night there said he now understands. That is three potential new cars down the drain due to poor officaiting.
I have never known the Voigt's well enought to talk to them until she was diagnosed with cancer this year. I know he is have a stellar year, they lost their health insurance due to her cancer and he is racing for all he is worth. Shame on you for taking two innocent drivers out last night to reward the one who caused the crash with his spot back. You , Mr, Kuhn are stealing money out of all our pockets with your horrible calls. I know for a fact of three times we have been sent to the back for things that were not our fault. The first Sunday you called us apologizing when you saw the video, You said you would make it up. The second time you one again you said you would make it up,. The third time which was when Faust went pouting you said you would talk to the scorers and get back to us. That was many weeks ago and you have ignored us ever since. I think I have came up with a solution. You sign three separate pieces of paper that says" Scotts make up to Frankie Martin" . I'll take them and laminate them and sew a pocket in his drivng suit. Then the next time you make one of your bonehead calls, He can hand the corner guy his make up card. It worked in Dumb and Dumber with their IOU's. You might want to hold on to that one. You seriously can not make up anything after a race is over. You have paid out the money, what are you making up? The only way you can make it up is to not let it happen again , and you continually keep making monumental mistakes. In case you didn't realize sir, it takes many cars to make a race, all the Thunder thortons, the Klines, the Jacobers, the Salters, and when you continually keep making bad calls you are stealing money our of all our pockets. You have got me for at least $2000 just this year. I am tired of throwing money down a black hole for people who do not appreciate you even being there. You know, we raced at Highland a long time and I never knew who Charlie DePew was. One night he came in to our trailer and when I asked if something was wrong, he said he needed to talk to us. He told us of how much he appreciated us coming there, that we drove along way to support him, that he knew from time to time we had received bad calls, and that we were always a true gentleman never saying anything but always coming back the next week with a smile on our face. He said not only were we fair but so were our fans in the stand never once causing a problem in all those years. He said he just felt we needed to know that we weren't unnoticed and that we were appreciated. You sir, have single handlely taken a man I have never seen be anything but a complete gentleman , father, husband, son and grandson , and single handly beat him down to a pulp. Our car is fast. Everytime we have qualified with the big guys we have been right up in the front, it is not our car, it is your politics, and it simply is not acceptable to us any longer. You are stealing money from honest people, who are hard working weekend racers. Last night Frankie looked up and someone who works for him was standing there waving with his children before the feature started. Do you think you made a good first impression? The week of the other crash our new neighbors across the street drove up from DuQuoin. A dentist, his wife and inlaws think they will come back? How you fill the stands in being appreciative of everyone who patronizes you, and fixing problems when the arise. We will not be back to Highland. You can mail me $100 for my parking space I paid you for , that has had someone in it every week when I get there. It is fraud to charge someone for something and not deliver it. Maybe you should have took better care of your chart , You sure didn't hesitate to take my money. I am with Aaron Kline for the first time in 48 years. I want a boat and a camper. This coming from the girl who asked for a new set of aluminum heads for Christmas and cried when I didn't get em. I guess , you have beat me down to nothing too. I was looking directly at the incident and I stand by what I saw. Maybe I'm wrong, wouldn't be the first time. Mark Faust has every right to take a couple of weeks off from racing if he is frustrated with the officiating. I think his complaint was that Kloos come to Highland while his suspension was still under appeal and won the double features and did not get his tires checked. Then the next week he got hosed be their new rule on the 2/3 of the cars completing a lap to score it. I like the rule but allowing a car to sit in the corner and holding the yellow until all of the other cars complete the lap is not how the rule was intended to be used and later that night Schulte intentionally took him out after he had lapped him and didn't get black flagged. Maybe at this stage of his career, he does not care to race every week. That's his business. At least he just chooses to take a few nights off and you don't have his wife come on here and cry us a river.

Really Mojo, you may think she is crying a river .... But go back to her first sentence in her post! That says it all! People need to know how others are treated at a track. I want to talk about their great officiating, 2 weeks ago a UMP official came to our pit and voiced a complaint from another driver after the heat about my driver! The complaint was to lay off a bit because my driver was driving the other racer TOO hard!! Too, HARD... Really!! Now why on earth would an official even come and relay something so petty and to tell him to ease up on the other driver!! At some point cars are going to touch or rub, that' racing! We expect that!! What are we all suppose to do, hold hands and sing kumbaya in the pits around a campfire after the races are over?? But then again some drivers think they are all that, and your just suppose to part the waves and let them pass! And if you don't get out of their way things get nasty.
I have seen many a night when things just don't add up from the week before, too. Like certain drivers that almost never start from the BACK row of their heat, and some start almost every week on the front row, some 3 weeks in a row! People can't be that lucky, I don't care who you are! The spin rule isn't fair either! If your leading a race and the car behind you SPINS you around..oopppps I didn't mean to do it!! The one who did the spinning needs to go to the back,too and then maybe the drivers might start using the that thing on the floorboard on the left callled a BRAKE!! But, then again it all depends on who you are as to what the call will be!
I was sitting on the front behind the flagman last Saturday. I saw what happened and I thought Voigt got a raw deal, too. Delware restarts are awesome, if a driver doesn't let their ego be the guide in the car, and try to get to the front from four rows back thinking it's the 50/yard dash to the checkered flag!
One more thing, remember this a forum page, you have an opinion, I have an opinion and so does Ronna, and we can all agree to disagree.

I don't know why Mark would have been upset by Michael Kloos winning both features while waiting for UMP's official decision. That is precisely why UMP fined him the monetary amount they did...to recoup what he won while the investigation was ongoing.
I can't stand Highland. I absolutely hate it that it's in my backyard, because it forces me to go there from time to time. Highland has catered to Faust all season long and I can't believe it's taken this long to blow up. I can't remember specifically which night it was, but they worked the track after every late model heat race until Faust's...when they had the top worked right so he could have a chance. I've never seen another track work the racing surface during the same class's heat race.

I don't have a horse in this race but it is my understanding that UMP fined Kloos the money that he won from those two features at Highland. I also think I read that he was fined $2500. Now is that $2500 plus what he won that night at Highland or was the $2000 he won for those two features part of his $2500 fine? I am sure more drivers than Faust are upset if UMP just pocketed Kloos' paycheck for those two features. When the track was ran by the SARA and a car was tore down after the feature and found to be illegal, all of the drivers that finished behind this driver were given a check for lost payout money. I was going to figure out how much it cost a few of the drivers that ran up front that night but Highland does not post it's payout. I do know that it cost Zobrist and Martin the most.
Just my 2 cents....It costs every driver that was at the track in their class!!! It's just sad to think that if they were illegal, it was the entire night...beginning with the heat races!!! Just think about it....not just the features, but their finish in the heat determines their "possible" starting spot in the dash, and mainly in the feature!!! Sorry to say, but it really screws everyone in the long run!!

ms.voigt im not real sure if you are talking about this past saturday night when you said faust took out weidner or not but if you are you are sadly mistaken. weidner was already in the wall before faust got to him and if my memory serves me correct faust done everything in his power to avoid weidner and i believe he did. ms.voigt i have been around this sport for along time back when your husband and faust used to race the modifieds back then in the late 80s early 90s. your husband knows very well how faust drives and faust knows how your husband drives. they have alot of track time together and we both know it. i understand your upset and very well you should be. i myself would be to, but do you really think faust perposely took those six cars out? i mean really? i feel that after some of the bonehead moves alot of these drivers have pulled this year that each and every driver is just flat sick and tired of it and are going to the nascar deal of boys have at it. i do agree on the part of the officiating. there does seem to be some favortism going on in highland. like somebody else posted earlier, how can a certain driver week after week start up front in their heat time and time again? could it have something to do with family being involved with some of the operations going on at the track and being on the fair board or just what is it?

Someone posted a video of the crash in the Latemodel Feature. Slow it down frame by frame, and see who is really at fault.
If I knew how to post a direct link here I would.
You can think what you want, but I don't see any way that Mark Faust caused that wreck.
