Highland updates

Not necessarily talking about this incident but the way the track handled the situation I would be sure a tow truck n tire change not be an option!

Ir-regardless of who the cast of characters are, if someone "parked it" in front of me,, and I had the faster car.....I would have picked them up the entire straight away and drove them thru the next corners wall.

Slide jobs on a surface like that are suicidal,I'm just sayin!..What happened to that "sponsored" Water Truck? Is it broke?

Surface wasnt bad it was the first rce of the night, the problem with it was there was not enough room or time to react, the first one 27 was the leader 6 could see it and the second one 27 had no idea it was coming.

Going down the front stretch he made a right turn in front of Kloos, how would he not know it was coming?

I think this is a dead issue i only just commented because the track conditions came into question,it wasnt bad it was the first race on it.he was racing kloos and knows what he is about nobody would be surprised by anything he does good or bad, ralph you raced before 27 was up against the wall was he looking ahead or to the left????in my opinion points racing has gotten the best of the 27 and some others as well hopefully things turn around soon the bad luck sucks!i was sick after that feature should have been first or second.

To many slide jobs in one race, someone wins and someone has to lose. The problem was retaliation, that's were you really lose. Should just what until a later day, Dale Earnhart Sr. was a pro at getting someone back at a later race and smile about it.

Sr. sure was good at getting even......or helping a fellow driver adjust his line near the end of the race

IMO, (not that it matters to anyone) the slide jobs executed by both drivers in the video are the high side groove equivalent of using the nose to take another driver out of the low side groove or door slamming another car to turn in the corner. Using the car, whether it be the front bumper, rear bumper or door in order to pass someone IMO is BS.

If your gonna slide someone, do it clean. Driving it in harder and then parking it sideways or having to slam on the brakes to keep from wrecking your car is out of control and not what I would call clean or being faster. If that's the only way you can pass another car, your just an impatient azzhole. Good drivers will find a way to get around cleanly without risking and/or tearing up their own or another drivers car. How many great races have we seen where the drivers ran side by side and never touched over multiple laps. Or seen them give a little love tap on the rear bumper and then wait until the other driver made a mistake or a hole opened up. It's not OK to take a drivers line away via contact. And that includes forcing contact by pulling a dirty slider, taking out the left rear, or door slamming. As I said earlier, if someone did it to me, I would pick them up and make a new exit gate at the end of the straightaway.

they were both doing it he should have known it was coming but its both theyre fault you should try to make a clean pass first before you go trading slide jobs

I think slide jobs are fine as long as you clear the car.taking the line away is part of the deal. They are usually done because the car in front is in the preferred line and is a little slower. Usually. In this case looks like they were doing them just to get under each others skin more than to gain a spot.

I agree there is nothing wrong with a good, clean slide job. But in addition to clearing the car, I would add "maintain your forward momentum" to the definition of a it being clean. Just as I would say it clean to root someone off the bottom as long as you don't initiate contact. By sliding up into another drivers line and not reasonably maintaining your momentum, you are initiating contact. Its just like a brake check on a restart. It's dirty racing.

Ask any driver, they expect others to respect their line and give racing room, not to chop and knock . There isn't a driver out there who would not be upset with another driver for parking it if front of them and not allowing them room to crossover. Just as they would be mad if they were punted out of the low groove. There is really not much difference. And if you don't give that respect, you should expect none in return.
