Inside Line Promotions - WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (Aug. 22, 2018) - Alex Hill is excited to race close to home in the near future after tying a career-best Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com finish last Saturday at Hamilton County Speedway.

"We had a pretty good car in Webster City," said Hill, who started 13 th and finished 12th. "The track was kind of tough to pass on, but it was a pretty good night."

Hill recently relocated from her home in Six Nations, Ontario, Canada, back to Los Angeles for her sophomore year at California State University and she is looking forward to racing at her home track of Ohsweken Speedway in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada, during three of the next four weekends.

"We want to get some laps in at Ohsweken before the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals on Sept. 14-15," she said. "That's about the biggest race of the year for us since it's our home track. Two years ago we missed the A Main by two spots and last year it was by one. Our goal is to make the feature this year. Plus, we want to race some at Ohsweken before the Canadian Nationals because they've added dirt to it and it's changed a bit since I last raced on it."

While the regular cross country commute for the full-time student may seem daunting, Hill is looking forward to it and was able to adjust her class schedule this year to accommodate it.

"It's a lot of traveling, but I'm looking forward to being able to spend time with my family," she said. "My last class of the week is finished by noon on Thursday and my first class of the week doesn't start until Monday at 6 p.m. so it works out pretty well. I can actually leave Los Angeles on Thursday and return on Monday and not miss any classes. If I'm lucky I can get a non-stop flight from Los Angeles to Buffalo. That takes about four-and-a-half to five hours and then it's about an hour drive from Buffalo to home."

Hill will make her first trip back home this weekend to race at Ohsweken Speedway on Friday. She'll travel to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., for an ASCS doubleheader on Labor Day weekend. Then Hill will have one more tune-up race at Ohsweken Speedway the following weekend before the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals in mid-September.
