How is everyone's cars coming along??

RAMS#20

09 MCS Ministock Champion
I welded on the new doors and fenders today., Still alot of work to do before paint. The motor is torn apart and waiting new bearings thanks to the cracked oil pickup from last year. With only about 6 weels left I hope the rest of you are farther along than I am.

i dunno jack, new doors and fenders may give you an unfair aero package for 2008. i know your r and d people are looking to pushing it to the limit. do we need body templates so it doesn't get to extreme? looks like the #20 will be a factor for 2008....

I talked to Mel and the only change in the rules is alum heads are not allowed on Fords so the wind tunnel I bought and the R&D people I have at work will be allowed to work their magic with my aero package this year. I also really upgraded the motor package this year. I went from the $85 rebuild kit to the all out $120 rebuild kit with moly rings, watch out team Heidenhain!!!

now jack you know better... you was supposed to just buy a junkyard motor from pick and pull for a $100 bucks (you have better luck with them:D) hey when are you sending me back my volvo head and 5.7 rods !!!

umm ya we are still trying to find out why my oils leaking and we already straightened! the colors and decals are staying the same

getting ready I hope

Son an I pulled the motor saterday , when all this ICE clears will take it to get freshend. Body work hell who knows. Hope to be teady by the start of season.

SMUF SHHHHH, I painted it blue so know one would know.

Shannon, just put thicker oil in it, thats what I do

01 New Scheme

If we ever get the body pieces replaced, here will be new scheme/number for the 01 car

The Team HEIDENHAIN up-date.

Hello fellow competitors:

I hope all went well over the winter and you all have begun to prepare your cars and trucks for the 08 season.
Things have been a bit slow for us as we all have had much to do outside of the racing scene.
The spring thrash is just around the corner for us though.
We have budgeted the money it will take to just go racing for every event and some to Fulton as well and this has left us just enough to purchase the required equipment to be within the rules for the 08 season at MCS.
Jim hit this on the head last year.
Our cars are plenty fast.
We have some handling issues that we must work out to be better on the track.
More horsepower will just set our "set-up" further back and make it harder to drive.
So for 08 its Handling, Handling and better Handling!
I am trying to make the drivers more comfortable in the cars.

John:

Who did the artistic rendering of the 01?
Thats a cool drawing of the car.
I wish I had one of our cars as it would make it easier to see the next paint scheme we want to use.
It would also be cool to use in a press release we intend to issue about HEIDENHAIN sponsoring us again in 08.

Soon we will be releasing our new web site and most of you will enjoy some press on this as I will be blogging during and after the races.
This is one way the good folks at HEIDENHAIN can be with us during an event without traveling to see us.
I will be writing about all of us as we continue to race for the
08 mini stock championship.
The guys are bucking up and buying me a tape recorder so I can save my thoughts race to race and write about them on the site.
This will get all of us some good press and hopefully another big money race in 08 with a higher car count.
I may even do a weekly spot light to help all of us secure some better sponsorship funds so we can continue to enjoy the sport we love.
I will let you all know first when it is ready...

Just a note and reminder for all of us!
Not only did your car work hard last year, but your truck or tow vehicle and trailer worked hard as well.
The best car can't win if it can't make it to the track safely.
I scared my self to death when I looked at the tires on the big trailer.
15 year old tires can burst at any time during a tow at 70 mph.
Not only endangering us but others who share the highway.
Please take some time to look over your hauler and related components.
It would make us all sick to find out someone was hurt by overlooking some simple safety issues.

We can't wait until we all meet again at the track.
The boys are tired of beating up those RC cars and trucks.

Can you guess how bad they got it?

See you all real soon!:)

P.S.
Has this forum died?
Has the winter messed up all of your computers?
This has been the slowest I have ever seen this forum..
CRANK UP THE KEY BOARDS AGAIN!
You can't tell me that everyone has nothing to say here....
Come on Jack, Crank them all up.
Somebody do something quick....

racing

you are correct ed, lane won races because he had the blue 42 handling like no other, had he been able to keep that car with the point lead he had before the being sent airborn, i think he could have held off jim, but it would have been close, jim came on strong late. we had a 3 yr old motor with a junkyard carb, stock everything but cam. that car could turn and hug the rail. oh well what happened is in the past...
