I-44 Seeing New Faces in O'Reilly's Winners Circle

Lebanon,Mo-The High-banks of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway willprepare for racing action this Sat Night as so far only 1 repeat winner has graced the O'ReillyAutoParts Winners Circle.

In LateModel Competion,the drivers will be gearing up for the MARS series which is scheduled to be action on May 1.

Racin Jason"The Hammer" Bodenhamer sits atop the LateModel point Standing by a very slim margin over Springfield's "Super" Dave Ware,and LateModel Rookie Brandon Maggard.While Lil Bodee took the opening night feature,it was IMCA National champion Justin Wells stealing the 1000 to win feature last week as so far the average LateModel car count has been 22 cars.Other great runs have been posted early this season by 1988 kingpin Darrell Mooneyham,Rookie drivers Brian Schutt,Rusty Dukes and many others so far.

In the Mighty Modifieds,last seasons titlest Erik Maggard sits on top of the point standings with Rolla's Eric Hudson in hot pursuit.While Maggard grabbed the opening night win,it was veteran James Hartman claiming a hard earned win last weekend.

Superstock point leader Larry Prewitt of Jerome is the only repeat winner so far this season overall and holds a strong early season lead while Last Seasons points runner-up Rick Brown is trying to get untracked.Great early runs by Laurie's Dave Bozich and consistant driving by Tim Petty have them both in the hunt.

The FactoryStocks have been nip and tuck,but 14 year old Micheal Maggard has roared into the top spot in his rookie season.Last week,while Bobby Williams was claiming the honors,Maggard charged from 20th to finish in the top 5.Tim Brown's car has won the opening 2 races,but with Williams driving last week.Rookie driver Lake ooneyham,and long time veteran mechanic and former driver Ed Schutt of Richland have turned in consistant runs early this season,while last seasons titlest Quintin Day is trying to get the newly built Station-Wagon back on track.

The Bombers have also seen 2 new faces in the winners circle,but it's Richard Weber who has been consistant in the point lead.The duo of Richland's David Hendrix and KC Prettyman are less than 3 points out of the lead,while last weeks winner Dusty Rhoades climbed to 8th in the standings as only 8 points separate the top 6.

Gates open at 5 with hotlaps around 7 and racing at 7:30 Sharp this weekend.
