I-45 Flora trip this weekend!

It appears on this thread that all you guys want is some honest teching...There is a simple answer for this,,real simple,,,,Have tracks go USRA or shut the hell up because there is none in UMP. Never has been,,never will be!! But get down to the brass tacks,,none of you want that either because the ones crying about it would be found illegal,,LOL
Not everyone cheats

This my friends...is how aTRUE CHAMPION reacts to losing a $5,000 payday. We need more of these people in our sport!

Class act by Robbie Eilers... He owned up to what the problem was and took it like a gentleman... Here's his post...

Robbie Eilers
Its what the rules are... we should have spent the extra time making sure things were fully checked... i have all kinds of set up tools for suspension but needless to say my digital valve spring guage will be in wednesday lol thats why i love usra. They will inspect and they will disqualify

Robbie Eilers
There suppose to be stock springs that rate at 200... we have a very fast car in the stable. Unfortunately we have to put new springs in a motor that we recieved for national title and no longer buy pump fuel from a gas station thats nitrogen enriched lol we more than likely will not be attending belleville or pevely this year due to there rules. Thanks for the support

where are the B mod guys supposed to buy fuel?? I thought the idea of running a crate motor was to lower the overall cost by having a motor that would perform well on pump gas.. I run a mix of racing gas and 93 BP gas .. where can LEGAL pump gas be had??

i will say that highland and fayette county make no mention of what really has to be inside of the crate motor. No inspection requirements like IMCA or USRA. IMCA i believe puts their own seals on the motors. While they don't list a valve spring rate for where he normally runs, USRA does list the crate has to be unaltered sealed motor from GM. USRA lists out includes four-bolt-main block, 9.5:1 hypereutectic pistons, cast iron crankshaft, GM iron Vortec cylinder heads, high-rise dual-plane intake manifold, 8-quart single kick-out circle track oil pan, valve cover kit with breather tube and breather, unique dual-pattern cam and special “kool nut” rocker arm nut design.

They way i read it, at highland and fayette county, buy a crate, swap out all the guts and your good to go? I will say the Highland and Tri city rule books are very short and not specific.

Shred x it's guys like u who cheat a sealed crate motor that make the rest look down on all the crate guys please keep spectating and don't get involved in the actual racing of cars

UMP doesn't have a rule against oxygenated fuel. I would assume the intention of the rule is to keep people from buying expensive oxygenated racing fuel. I asked Darlo from USRA to test my 93 octane gas I bought Saturday morning at the Shell in Highland by the square and it failed the test. kind of lame I think. I am curious if it the nitrogen they advertise in the gas showed positive as oxygen? who knows I'm not a chemist

some more lame senile comments from grand paw fireball---- If any of you hate mongers out there think Robby set out to cheat then you really need to pull your head out your azzes -- the fule in question was bought at a local gas station - now if the racing groups had knowledge of some pump gas not being to specs they should share that info - re; the valve springs from what I have heard that is the only internal part that the racer can and should replace --also how bought they just have their sheet together where as the rest of you b-atchers do not -- now this is JMO and iffin I pizz som yall off WELL GOOD -- len garson

Valve springs are one of the most common cheated part on the crate motors. They can get away with stronger springs when tech test the rate while the spring is still on the valve.

Also, they are removing lifters and putting in lifters that are just a few thousands longer.. Guys that know what they are doing can swap out lifters without ever breaking a seal on the crate motors.

I was just playing devils advocate. I was an aircraft inspector for a few years so I notice when rules or tech data is poorly written pretty quickly.

I wasn't saying anyone was cheating, just the rules are terribly written out and each track is different. USRA has a 10 page book for b mods where tri city has half a page.

How it shakes out is.... If you wanna level playing field and want rules then USRA is probably your answer.. If you wanna dump $$$ over and over again and still complain that the rich man is beating you then run UMP

The imca guys I talked to at the track here complained the rules were too strict and that they teched too much

One guy was Dq'd for illegal mud plug

It doesn't matter whether Robbie done it on purpose or not. Rules are rules. He admitted he should have took the extra time and checked that part but beings it was a brand new motor you wouldn't have thought it was illegal. Like big swigg said, you want rules and tech, then USRA is for you but otherwise UMP is what you got.
