Once again another spectacular night of racing at the best track in the Midwest!!

That may of been the largest crowd I've seen at I-55 outside of a WoO or NASCAR night special... Not only were the stands full, they were lined up 2-3 deep standing in turns 3-4.. WOW

Great deal with the kids tonight too... Lots of kids went home happy tonight... Some people traveled a long ways too.. The announcer was asking each of the kids that won a big prize where they were from.. One said Alaska (not sure about that one) and another said Iowa...

Years ago The track was that way every weekend.......
Now, with the economy the way it is ( i think ) it's lucky to get half of what it used to get.
Yes i-55 is the best track in the Midwest.
Probably in the top five in the country.........

The thing is that most of the people I saw last night was the 1st time I have seen there. I guess they came cuz it was 1/2 price to get in and get the freebee's for the kids. Its a shame that they only come 1 time a year. I wish they would come every week and support their local dirt tracks.

I agree with ExRacer 110 %. I think it is a great idea for the kids and fans but it is ashamed that over half the crowd only comes one night a year and for one reason only. If you check out the stands after the nickel race most of them leave because they really are not into the races.

I agree. I thought leaving would be a nightmare, but they were all gone way before the last races.I'm sure was a huge $$ night for concessions & thus good for the track. But as a diehard, kids took too long but there was so many what could you do & rest of show ran like a top. The good part about the kids thing was maybe a few will be back with parents again & when the showstopper's son won & was asked who his fav driver was,he said his dad. Smart kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, fan appreciation night is a good deal, really fills the stands and just from the attendance, I'm sure was a profit before the concessions. Farmington does this once a months and it is at standing room only. Hopefully some promoters will notice this and try a half price fan appreciation night and figure out that a couple times a year that they will make more at a half price night than a full price night. Kudos to I-55 for supporting the kids also.

What would make more money for a track say two people getting in for $12 and two people spending money while they're in there or one person getting in for $12 and one person spending money while they're there? Guess there is no correct answer just food for thought.

Honestly, I wish the nickel or quarter night was a random night so the kids that are there every week are the kids that win the prizes. I know they are drawing people in but it would be nice to see the regulars get the bigger stuff.
