I-55 pro 4s

There was about 10 of us held by allied officials! We were told we were having a meeting out there. Then when we seen the drives meeting was over the we were told we were not having a meeting. I heard the call for the meeting but we were unable to go. This just shows that no one knows what is going on.

I was at the drivers meeting on the infield and many pro4 drivers were hearing that we were having a separate meeting in the outer pits about the issues that went on from the week prior after the "official" drivers meeting. Pro4s were kept after the drivers meeting on the infield and were told to respect each other and remember what it was like when you were a rookie. There were numerous Pro4 drivers that said they were told to just wait in the outer pits for the pro4 safety meeting that never occurred.

As for the rough driving that has been going on... its getting out of hand, and is often even worse during the larger shows (I can only imagine what it will be like when we race for the $300.00 purse & more pro4 show up). I have several years experience in a Pro4 and have had decent success in the class- without driving dirty. I know where a brake is and so do many of my other competitors. Its just those that apparently don't know where their brake is- who are causing this class to be looked at as a joke. It has been discussed repeatedly among drivers (among each other) in this class that we do not want our cars tore up or our safety in jeopardy. This dirty driving puts a bad wrap on a class that is intended to be fun. We aren't racing for big bucks - winner at i55 gets $50.00 on a regular night. $50.00 is not worth putting someones life in danger or tearing up numerous cars.

I hope that for my safety and the safety of the other drivers that the dirty driving is now put to a stop. Accidents happen, but what has been going on recently has not been accidents.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything Jessica said.

While at I-55 this past week, I was doing a lot of thinking, comparing what I've seen the few times I have been this year versus what things looked like when I first started racing a pro 4 at Pevely in 2008. It is really sad to say that there is a big big difference.

The way I see it, there are two separate issues with the "rough driving" that has been going on: People who intentionally try to wreck other cars; and people who drive hyper-aggressively with no regard for other cars on the track.

The intentional wrecking--nothing needs to be said on that. Lives are too valuable, and we all work waaaay too hard in this sport, for any idiot to be out there intentionally trying to wreck someone else. It's hard to say how much of what has gone on the past few weeks was purely intentional, but I suspect a fair amount was. That's just sad.

Another problem, just as big, is people whose aggressive driving style far exceeds their talent level. There are a lot of new-ish drivers this year. You absoutely HAVE to learn how to keep your car under control first, and then you can worry about being the next NASCAR driver. The agenda for my first season was pretty simple: get on the track, follow some good drivers and learn their style, and don't wreck myself or anyone else. Period. What I am seeing out on the track now, is a lot of people who are far more worried about moving up a spot or two than they are trashing someone else's car.

When I first started out, there were a lot of really good pro 4 drivers I had the opportunity to learn from. There were a couple of duds, but many of them were really good quality guys and girls who raced you hard but always tried to race you clean. Many of them are now successfully racing in higher divisions. I still have a lot of respect for many of these people, and am good friends with many of them today. That spirit of community is what makes me want to get back into racing. The demolition derby free for all going on out there now? Not so much.

As many of you know, I had to take some time off of racing when my son was born with some health issues. Things are just getting settled enough for me to start thinking about getting back on the track eventually. I hate to say it, but the racing currently going on makes me a lot more likely to stay in the stands. If I get back into racing, I want to do it the right way, with a good and good looking car that I've put in a lot of hard work on. Am I real anxious to do that with the current racing going on? Heck no.

"For one I hate to see anyone get their cars torn up, no matter what class. these guys in the Pro-4s are out for blood and what for $75- $100 to win. It is terrible they have to act this way. CINDY HANCOCK"

So is it ok for the guys say in the mod clas to run into other cars and try to tear them up just to win, because they run for more money? I think rough driving and runing into other cars needs to be looked at in all the classes.

As I had posted hate to see it in any class, and if u know me If Tim gets into anyone I am the first one there to b&g him out. money is an issue for everyone and believe me the mod pay isn't that good either. It's not ok to tear other peoples cars up. Hope this clarifies i just wasn't posting about just the Pro 4's (quote: no matter what class)

They where instructed by track owner and other Allied officials that they had other things that they needed to do besides have a safety meeting. I wonder if they would have been allowed to have a five minute meeting if that might not have saved a couple of race cars and not sent a driver to the hospital??
If thats the case its pretty sad. We are told how valuable the class is to the health of the track. Does not seem that way.........

The screw up on the meeting was my fault not Allied's or anyone else, thought I could get it done before drivers meeting but wound up with too many irons in the fire. I am sure that all know what the message is regardless of where you got it! As Don Hoener stated the issue has been dealt with.

to Intake

in the next meeting, could you please have them slow down comming back into back pit area, people have children in he pits and i hollered at one driver cause he almost hit someone.. thanks
