I-55 Raceway early key dates!!

Maybe I was a little off base in my comment about the driver and wings/non-wings, but I can't see any base in saying that one driver is any better than the other just based on the style of car they drive!!

Are you willing to guarantee that any driver that comes up from USAC is going to be an instant hit in the WoO? Sure, the non-winged cars are harder to control, but the WoO also go much, much faster, and handle much differently.
 
Wannabees

I talked to Ray today and I mentioned this post to him. His response was they have no intentions of dropping the Wannabees. He has no idea where that came from. He hopes to see everyone again in the spring.
 
I went to the mod show that got rescheduled from the WoO date i believe 2 years ago and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen I-55 put on, the racing was great, and I believe that all of the cars that finished were on the lead lap.
 
I believe the stuff about the drivers from both sides is a little off base. I'd say the Wing yes does take the foot out of it compared to a non-wing car. Although, if you haven’t noticed all the WoO guys can step into a non-winged car and do some damage! I wouldn't say that an either one takes more driver they are just different (that’s from a driver that’s ran both!!)


Back when the whole wing thing came about it actually improved racing in the open wheel class. They lack of tires made it one lane and follow the leader races. When they put the wings on it actually improved the racing till they got good tires as they do today and now it’s back to the one lane follow the leader racing. Non winged is defiantly a better show to watch that’s for sure.

SCRA vs. WoO at lakeside is no contest the SCRA guys put on 20 times better show!

That was an awesome show, and I-55 should consider doing a big show for the modifieds like that every year. Car count was fantastic, and there was a big crowd there too, to boot!!!
 
Special race for Modifieds

I couldn't agree more that they need to schedule another special Modified race, something similiar to what they did two years ago. That was one heck of a race. If nothing else, put the Modifieds on the racing program with the LMs during one of those special weekly (usually Wednesday) events that are always scheduled a few times every season. Sort of a LM/Mod double bill, if you will.
 
To me, the WoO is kind of like NASCAR...you have to watch them on the right track.

And Pevely is one of those right tracks!

How anyone doesn't think that the WoO shows have been anything less than excellent, is beyond me.

Now...the outlaw shows at Tri-City....? That's a different story.

By the way, look at the all the different license plates in the parking lots at I-55 outlaw show... last year I counted nine just walking to the ticket window
 
And here's another thought for those who think they should get rid of the WoO at I-55.......they are building more stands specifically to KEEP the WoO. So, wish all you may, I-55 will continue to host "The Greatest Show on Dirt".

i've seen lots of modified races where they were all on the lead lap. cars dont usually get lapped when theres a yellow every couple of laps. i remember there was big talk about pevely getting a extreme race last year, but tcs got it instead. what happened? the tcs show was incredible, i'd love to see them there again.
 
The Pevely Mods are not like other tracks. And believe me they don't have yellows every 2 laps. I would really like to see a BIG show at I-55 for the mods also.... Chip pass that on PLEASE!!!!

I think Pevely had more than there fair share of BIG SHOWS last year. Not just 1. Maybe they were over booked at that point!
But I can gaurentee that the Late Model shows were well worth
the price of tea in China. I personally did not miss the extreme race. We had beter quality shows and more drivers than the Extreme would pull. J/M/O !!!!!

Let's see, Schrader who is co-owner of I-55 also has an interest in UMP and NALMS, I don't forsee an Extreme show there anytime soon.
 
Well two of their BIGGER SHOWS were rained out last year. That's right I'm talking about the RAMS!!! :D :D

Sorry guys, to me I-55 is the RAMS 2 biggest shows every year and last year they were bothed rained out.:mad:

Easy now, don't beat me up too bad.

You are correct the rams do a very nice job at I-55... And I look forward to seeing some of them races next year !!!! Beat you up No !!!!!! You are always way to nice to do that !!!!!!
