I-55 Raceway getting a surface tuneup!!

Hey Black Ice,
I was down there last week and Ray showed me the track and explained how you all did the work. GREAT JOB!!!!

It's great to see that it was a learning experience for many different people. You can never learn too much!

The track looked terrific. With the rain we just got and the additional work that the Marler's were going to do, it should be bad @ss fast!!!

Thanks for everyone's hard work on a top notch program at I-55 and continuing to put forth the effort to keep it a top notch facility!

I honestly think the goals of this work is to make racing from the top to the bottom as equal as possible, and not to make the qualifying of one car at a time faster. I really hope it successfully makes racing the top successfully when there is no cussion, and the bottom successfully when there is a cussion possible. I know thats asking alot, but we all expect alot from I-55.

King Korte's Record

Cool your jets and thaw out a little there Black Icicle! I'm a callin' you out on this one. He who is so wise to predict the fall of King Korte's record should be willing to wager some ice cold, I-55, Chip Marler special blend Budweiser. The next qualifying session I'll meet you at the flag stand Chump! Bring your money 3D goon. We will see how your work performs.

Sniff, Sniff - Anyone smell anything. . . Sniff, Sniff. Hey White Top, Your mother smells of elderberries.

I'll take that bet, I'm not sure I can wait that long, I'm pretty thirsty. You sure you want a "Budweiser"? Someone with a "white top" seems like they would drink like, Mich Ultra or something. Heavy you want, heavy I'll get.

When you get to the flagstan, I'll be the good lookin' guy - just so ya know. What should I be looking for?

Belly Acher

hey advocate,

you sound like someone who has a belly ache, the kind of person who never has anything good to say about anything. just as an FYI, the truth is that the solar flares could cause some disruption in sattelite signal but probably not to an extent that would interfere with what is being done in this particular case. Besides that any surveyor will check the p-dop for that day before making any GPS observations and would make a decision to or not to go out that day or even a time of that day. Even so, the guys are also using a robotic total station, probably a Trimble 5600 or a Geodimeter 600 (same thing) I have had the pleasure of operating one for some time and I can assure you they are extremely accurate and reliable under the worst conditions.
Why use all this fancy equipment? Well this is 2003, you should get with the times. You know what they say "if you got it, use it"

Ya know...someone could post on here that the sky is blue, and somone else would debate it. This cracks me up.
Bottom line is, props to Marler/Shcrader and Co. for trying to improve on a already great facility!

Big Don...WOW!...you, sir, should be writing for some techno geek magazine or...something. I bet your a Craven fan...or something.

Black Icicle I'm not done with you, putz. I'll be at the flagstand looking for your goggle wearing, buck tooth head. Now I'm a wirey fella about a buck 35 (with a can o' whoop *** right?) and I'll be wearin' my Dandy Don Klien shirt. Come and get it!

Top!

:D AND COMING OUT OF FOUR WAY DOWN LOW IS THE ALTHOFF KENWORTH LEADING THE PACK TO THE CHECKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!( by the way was that truck #50):D :D ;) :D :D

Meow.

Hows bout this.

I'll just walk across the building and into your office and turn that buck 35 into a pocket full of change.

signed,

Your one and only brother. :D

Whats the big deal? once the cars have run a half season the track will settle back down to where it was anyway. Thats unless the flood comes and the cars dont get much track time.

ummm well maybe you should spell his name right if you are going to wear his shirt. It is KLEIN

Can we get back to the subject at hand please? Great job Kenny/Ray, or whoever in the hell is responsible for making the decision to improve the track at I-55. Every faithfull race fan, including me, that attends Pevely every week will greatly appreciate the vast improvements that are being made. Thanks to all.

I doubt that would happen.....I've seen hills graded flat, and the tops of the hills used to fill the rest of the site....and it doesn't settle, if you get the compaction right.
