This Saturday's Playday at I-55 Raceway has been cancelled.

Racing starts March 29th will a regular show at the regular times.

I do believe that this is not yet an official cancellation because Jack O. Pugh did not give his weather report to confirm it. Jack, where are you?

[Guess he's out checking on Purestock numbers and drivers so he gets them correct when he reports on them this year! Way to go Jack O>!]

i55/playday

i want an offical statement from i55 if possible because i was there about 3:00 pm today and the track and infield was just a little wet there was no water on the blacktop rd. pit entrance rd. also there was no water within 100 ft. of the back pits this is the most ridiculious thing i have ever heard of imy life. there is a very little chance of a spot shower tommorro afternoon this is stupid.

Well, it is OFFICIAL. Ray Marler called this evening. Just because the surface of the track may look dry, underneath is still very wet.

Especially someone with your username shouldn't be implying someone is STUPID. If so, look in the mirror for your answer.

mr. dearing i was not impling that anyone was stupid especially not ray marler i was tring to say that the situation was stupid. as for my user name i am a human being just like you no different just saved. i will make no further comment on this subject. if i offended you i am sorry:cool:

Nothing against Jimmy Dearing (I'd take his word for it anytime), or especially Ray Marler (he called Jimmy Dearing!), and even Trashdog, too, but no Jack O.? What's up Jack? It can't be legally, justifiably, and officially a done deal without Jack's input, now can it?

Ray Marler has more time now to stock up on those delicious drumsticks, his best ice cream novelty, for dirtgirl and me on opening night. Get 'em ready, Ray! We're coming! :D

Maybe we should ask Noah?

March 29th - Season Opener!
The Test & Tune session for March 22nd has been CANCELLED due to all the heavy rain.

Both World of Outlaw Sprint Car event tickets are on sale now by calling (573) 756-2593. Reserved seats are $32.

7 inches or so of rain, and yet someone is complaining they cancelled. I'm sure next weeks opening night could be affected by this rain. Good call, no need to tear up cars on practice day with a spongy holey track.

Here's a couple of pics that Lou took this morning and sent them to me on my phone. I would say things are still a little wet. Hope to see everyone next week!

Those pictures are worth a thousand words..

Also keep in mind that the river is not due to crest until tomorrow sometime..

I am a Track Official at Highland, last word I got at 11:00 today, Highland is still on for Saturday 22 Mar, from noon til???

I believe it is a given that in almost every instance, Jimmy Dearing IS the "official voice of Pevely". Well, along with "The Talker Guy: of course.

FYI...The rivers aren't supposed to crest until today and so just because the water wasn't up when you were there doesn't mean it isn't now.

LMAO BTW S^$%#D the water won't crest untill sometime Sat.

Can't win!

Those that are b!tching about the early cancellation are the same people that would b!tch if they would have waited until later to call it... after people were loaded up and ready to go.

They would be on here saying "they should have known they were gonna get flooded. Why did they wait so long to cancel when it was so obvious?"

Thanks I-55 for having the COMMON SENSE and courtesy to cancel when it was pretty much obvious that the flood was coming.

This brings up another point. Too many people get on here and post stuff because THEY want to make it look like they have the information before anyone else. Everyone should just sit tight until the OFFICIAL WORD is released by the DESIGNATED PERSON.

As far as rainouts, cancellations, changes in schedule and etc, each track should designate ONE official representative to post such items.

It's a given that Revin (Kevin or Tammy logged in as REVIN) are Tri-City Speedway. What may not be a given to some is that Jimmy (jdearing) I believe, is technically the Official Promotions Director of I-55. I believe that he runs their website and handles most if not all the Media Releases as well.

If I'm wrong... then it's only slightly wrong... LOL!

Jimmy, please start a "Sticky" and lock it so there are no stupid posts on there and make a list of all area tracks and who is responsible for making their official announcements.

I always tell people not to believe anything on here about rain outs, cancellations and etc unless it's verified by jdearing or Don Hoener (I-55 and Belle-Claire) or Revin for Tri-City.
