I-55 track conditions 7/25

SLIDINDIRTY

We do it dirty
A BIG THANK YOU to I-55 for the race track last night. It was awesome all night long. Some of the best racing I've seen all year! Keep it up. Maybe we can have that again for this Wednesday?!! :D;):D;)

Were you watching the same race I was? The mod feature was awesome! Passing all over the place. Bittle and Maybry passed up Walsh..lots of passing in the middle, and Horton and Hancock passed up almost the whole field!

that would 've the same or better with a tacky track

I am not one to be rude or disrespectful, just wanted to start a nice appreciative post. Check out Jimmy's post about this Wednesday and look at that picture...if we have a track like yesterday we'll have more of that maybe 4 wide! I enjoyed it, I know alot of people like it tacky I'm just not one of them. I especially like it slick for the mods.

I have always been supportive of track promoters but explain why they started working on the track so late. It couldnt help but to be a one laner. Low pill draw overrides passing points with a track like that.
Sorry, just calling it the way I see it.

agreed, there was hardly any passing at all, just look at the results, almost every guy who didnt break finished exactly where they started

I dont know if you noticed but that happens at every track. The fast guys start up front and finish up front. Whats the problem? Yes, you have a few that might come from the back because of bad heat race finishes but those also are usually the fastest guys.

Do it like the old days, start them in the back!!! Don't we all like it when Walsh starts in the back...now that is a race!!!

Sorry but the track was bad. It didnt help that all the fast guys started on the front or second row. But it was worth my 10 dollars to watch Jason Keller loop it leading. Karma from some Hollerbach stuff maybe. Laughed my _ss off.

That's true, not everyone can pass 5-6 cars. Look at the results on any night or track condition. Come feature time, you might have 3 maybe 4 movers and shakers. The rest maintain and the others lose spots. It's not possible for everyone to be passing. If so who would they pass.:D

The point leaders in the Sportsman and Mods had to make the feature through the consi because they had to start in the back of their heats and weren't able to move forward. The Eiler boys couldn't move forward either.

The worse part of a super black track is the yellows. Mods had the most with all that h\horse power and not much tires, then probably sportsman, then late models. More yellows than on a tacky track.

Pevely is a much different track than Highland, I think that's why the Eiler boys may have struggled. With the track slick the drivers have to rely more on their own skill and less on horsepower. I think that's why it makes it more interesting. JMO

Very true! It was fun watching Horton & Hancock march through the field. I think on one restart Hancock passed 7 cars in 2 laps. They put on a show if you were watching.

I think their driving skill shows in how they consistently win at Highland with it's much tighter corners and dryslick track. If they could have gotten a front row start in their heats, they would have finished up front.
