Something that's been cooking in my head for a while now (I think I may have mentioned it on here before), and with Bruton Smith's tracks stealing more tradition from the Cup circuit (Rockingham & Darlington) I've been giving it more thought. Alot of us "old-timers" and "traditionalists" are sick of the generic tracks becoming the norm in the world of NASCAR Cup racing.
That having been said, how about trying to put together a pay-per-view series of high profile DLM races avaliable through your local cable or satellite provider? Events like the World, Topless, DTWC, Illinois Fall Nationals, etc. Stand alone events, not sanctioned by the feuding "big 2". I have 15 years of broadcasting experience, but not sure if this is something with potential for success.
I think if it was marketed toward the "real" race fans, instead of the "beautiful people" the Cup series seems driven to attract, it could work, assuming we could keep the purchase price reasonable. What are your thoughts?
