If your buying 9" parts

If your buying 9" parts, or anything for that matter, bring a flashlight and make sure that your buying what is described.

We recently bought a 9" gear from someone on here and the pinion gear was smoked. Yes, its our fault for not taking a good look at it and taking the guys word for it. Turned out he either don't know what he's looking at or he don't look at all and goes by how many races are on it.

After we got home and took a good look at it with a flashlight, the pinion gear was junk. We called him back, and his wife ended up taking care of it for him. She more or less accused us of switching it out with a bad one:rolleyes:

She said no refunds no exchanges and that it couldn't be bad, it only had three races on it (he said 6, but whatever) I don't think the guy really knew it was bad, but he didn't know us so.....................well he had his wife handle it:eek:........end of story

FYI
To check a rear end for straightness, with the rearend out, put 2 wheels/tires on it. Make a reference mark on the tread of each tire, measure across, then roll the housing to make sure the reference marks don't become closer or spread. If they do, the housing is bent.

and remember when buying used parts, some people make it sound more than it really is. Kinda like ebay. Sometimes when people seem like honest individuals, there really not. Chalked it up as a $200 lesson.

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE !!
